I’m talking for compliance with grid sell, etc. not sure how that could be done with only 120v grid connect. Maybe, just don’t know. If this has rapid shutdown/etc could be awesome though.UL, doesn't require a specific voltage or configuration.
I could be totally wrong but way back in the day when 120-watt solar panels were about the biggest you could get and cost $4/watt it does seem like somebody made an 120v 1800-watt string inverter that met the grid interconnection standards of the day. Maybe it was the very first SunnyBoy I ever saw???I’m talking for compliance with grid sell, etc. not sure how that could be done with only 120v grid connect. Maybe, just don’t know. Good point. Completely forgot about Sunny Island. There are 120vac inverters that are UL1741 certified for being grid interactive. Sunny Island is one example.,
There is series stacking of 120vac inverters for 240v/120v grid connect with grid export.
The current 120/240v Sol-Ark 5k sells for $4500 and has been out for a while.

California customers: The SA-5K is not CEC Listed as an approved inverter for some California Grid-interactive Installations. Consider the Sol-Ark SA-8K or SA-12K for these applications.www.solar-electric.com
Was simply referring to price of unit for 5k.Other than both being "5k", they are quite a bit different units.
Hopefully they do better than that, because the price of the 5k sucks, frankly. Was simply referring to price of unit for 5k.
