When a switch opens DC it want to arc longer than a AC would. Mechanically they usually switch faster and contact travel farther away. Look what inverters are doing. They switch DC high current all the time. I can be done just don't use a AC device for DC. There are also ways to do it what...
I have had it hooked up for a few weeks now and have no complaints about the VSD and the pump spinning up, slowing down, heat, alarms or any pump related issues.
HOWEVER, my salt water chlorinator doesn't like it at all. I get low salt & low flow alarms. I can see if you used this pump...
I ordered the contactor yesterday. Will enjoy a little torture testing :devilish:

I am testing the little 100Balance 1A Active Balancer. On sale <$15us on AMZ. Darn thing works. To small for my 15S 100aH but it is reducing the differential. I put a temp probe on it and not seeing much heat but only 1 amp.
I didn't install the software or should I say run it. I unzipped it and copied the older version into a different directory. I was going to use it after work that day. Then windows flagged it was a virus and quarantined it. I didn't have this issue on the older version that I ran a few...
I replaced my water heater a few years ago. I regret not getting a high efficiency heat pump design. Especially now that I could have run it on solar AND cool the room where my batteries are. We are in a miserable heat wave in Florida right now. I had to put a fan in that room to keep them...
I have tried everything. I contacted support@signaturesolar.com for the first time so lets see how that goes.
Unable to get it balanced and over 55.31 Volts.
I had an issue of running just #4 on a 1KW load. It cut out randomly. My goal was to run it down for a little bit and then charge it up. It would cut out but didn't give any inforamtion in the HUB. The other issue is that the Hub was powered off the buss with only that battery on so it...
Nice work, I am not into 3D printing yet.
Anything that I can purchase at a reasonable price and mount to a 19" rack? Would prefer something that didn't have open wires/connections to short out. Needs to run on 4 through 28vdc. I can upgrade Solar Assistant from by RP3 to Orange to make it...
I was aiming for 3.45 but the imbalance would make one cell go over 3.5 while the other was a 3.3 and change. My one success story was to run it down to 80% let it sit and then take it up to 55.2 and hold it. I'll get more creative next time around. Start work week back up.
So the problem...
Example Screen shot of Reading the hub on the inverter port with a standard battery RS485 USB that came with the battery. I am reading battery #4 (APP ID). I bought a 3 port expander from AMZ so I can plut it in without unplugging my 3K-HV

I can tell you some issues I have with the EG4 LifePower4 (QT-YS00-16SV100A) Narada BMS

They are going after tool batteries, scooters, and consumer grade. Hopefully LPF will have different rules from the Evil Li-Ion.
Sounds like someone needs to make and sell an inexpensive battery cabinet with a small HVAC for residential. They have them for commercial. Nice aluminum rack with...
It just hit me after I posted last message. A box Trailer wired in like a generator through a transfer switch.
Only problem is DOT has Lithium rules... Ok, I like the shed idea.
Been looking at this battery box enclosure. Love the idea that it is already cutout for the JK Inverter BMS
It looks similar to one Andy had on Off Grid Garage. Anybody try this one out?
I really wanted to understand how this BMS works in the QT-YS00-16SV100A rack battery.
There are so many threads and people having issues. It shouldn't be that difficult to tweak the current firmware to get it to work better.
The SOC 100% that was sitting at 54.0V all night. Then put on...
USB Relay output settable as conditions, you could trigger buzzer or other alarm options

In fairness this was designed for a 48 volt system. Everything was divided down to the other voltages.
Now that is a serous DC breaker assembly. I found a couple for sale on surplus. Can't wait to hook them up with some bullet breakers

I love my EG4 3K, great unit. I have it set up as Solar first with Grid for overload. Every now and then I see the grid kick in for no apparent reason. I saw an event yesterday. We had some pretty good clouds moving overhead but this action didn't seem justified. I didn't know it happened...
I have 4 12v 100aH Eco-flow plastic batteries. I wanted to take them apart and put them in one metal box. I look at the 48V 50AH packs already assembled and it isn't worth the work on the (4) 12V. The batteries have been great but I have this BURNING desire to put them in metal... or just...
I started at 55.11V 100mA and I would come back in and check on it and it was 0mA, charge MOSFET open. Turned down to 25mA and reset over night. This morning I put it on 50mA. Differential 217mV
My previous method as a human BMS worked great but takes way to much effort. I was hoping that...
The NEC only requires 25 ohms ground resistance; however, the industry recognizes a lower resistance value may be more desirable. International Electrical Testing Association ATS-201313 recommends 5 ohms or less for large industrial systems.
Installing grounding electrodes (in particular, rods)...
you have to look at your break even cost for the solar. I have battery backup and that justified the system expense to have have the system. Payback time is 8 years at current rate.
Backup Power with solar charging benefits and piece of mind. A few more panels and price will keep going down.
I downloaded the Hub data on battery #4. The Communications Hub is doing what it is supposed to do. This is the only battery that isn't happy. Just passed 1 year old. Data attached.

The wife wants me to cover up the HVAC, Pool Pump, water softener, and all that 'ugly stuff' that can be seen by the pool and porch. The pool pipes go through this area so digging down and putting a fence around here is a little challenging.
I came up with an idea. How about something I can...
Now there is a good positive contact screw down breaker. I bet it bolts to a heavy plate or terminal to dissipate the heat. I really liked the ez din rail breakers when I first got into solar, they came with the inverter. I use commercial bullet breakers at work and didn't think it was...
Sales and Delivery under 30 days but Customer service non existent. I just got the run-a-round. "This forum helped me with those answers" I am just telling you my experience. Sounds like they need real competition for the true Capitalistic way.
I like his box better. 100aH 12V Eco-Worthy LPV with Magnetic Shunt (FET) & Harbor Freight 2k Inverter. Great for pole saw in yard. AC & PV Charger inside box for ez deployment.
Down the worm hole we go! I had to find what works best for my set of batteries. I monitor everything and been testing these settings. So far I am very happy with them. Will will tell you to go to 57, Andy will tell you to go to 55.2-55.8, manufacture says 58V
You can't go wrong in this...
These seem to be the hardest to disconnect. On my semi-permeant setup it is becoming an issue. Tempted to cut the outer pin cover to make like other MC4 type
