The non bluetooth 100balance active balancer (not BMS) doesn't do anything like you said. The Bluetooth
version seemed to work but all the cells had to be over the threshold. The nice thing is that you can set the threshold and turn on/off so it does have some potenital.
The EG4 hub converts the output to different protocols so any way to take the converted protocol and merge it with another device so EG4 and DIY battery data can be combined.
I have tried everything except open it up and charge the lowest cells up with an external power supply. The BMS will lower the highest cells but it does nothing for the couple that won't come up. Lower voltages it looks great.
That is exactly why I like to remote monitor everything and prefer a more advance battery. Here is an example of the BMS showing that one battery disconnected. It has a lower INTERNAL voltage than the rest. Caused by one cell over voltage shutting down the BMS. Without the internal reading...

All kinds of cool ideas here. have to make a bracket for it as it is a panel mount.

I have found that you need to USE these batteries. Take them down to 20% and up to 56.4 or as they say 58V (OMG) to get them to balance out. They want to be used and have a little TLC. Worst case you can open them up an charge each cell to 3.650 (absolute max) and bring them back to life...
I have wanted to buy a transformer that can take 120Vac and go to 230-240Vac. I see a bunch of inexpensive toroidal type on various platforms. Price is getting to the point that I want to try one. Anybody have any experience on them?

I agree. It was more of an emergency shutoff. I was actually thinking of using a solenoid or an unlock motor that would pull the breaker off. I haven't had the need to do it yet. Having a master kill switch would have to kill the AC breaker to the inverter, PV in, and battery.
Well that is what I was looking for. Some truth behind the curtain. I am not familiar with these stand alone balancers but would like to try one. New subject for me to binge you tube and forums about 😁
I like the plastic encloser of the 100Balance 16S 1A Balancer
Living in Florida we find that lightning & hurricanes are more of a threat than CME & EMP. I install ferrite for RFI (Ham Radio), surge suppression, and an extensive ground/bonding on everything. I don't expect to escape damage from a direct strike but a strike near by is enough to cause...
I know how to get in there to make it work, plan was to come up with something I can put on it and walk away, go asleep, and wake up with a happy battery. not opposed to a timer, relay, and load. Many people with this type of battery would buy such a device or build it if some drew it up. Two...
Excellent build, super efficient on use of space.
Put some mounting holes like blind nuts for an inverter to screw to the outside (easy to remove and put back on). Or even some magnets inside for seamless mounting. Nice job well done!
I like the separate off house building idea. Put some cooling and ventilation as necessary. Don't like having the batteries on bottom where anything can be dropped on them. Everything falls down and personally the older I get the concept of kneeling is less attractive as it once used to be (oh...
There are 16 cells in a 48V battery. If one of them get to high and others get to low in voltage the "Pac" becomes unbalanced. When you charge them up one cell will go into over voltage and the BMS will disconnect the PAC from the outside terminals until the BMS bleads down the top cell. The...
I have a couple of ECO-WORTHY 12V 100ah and haven't had any issue with them. Sale on AMZ with free shipping was to much to pass up. Their rack and tilt mount is pretty inexpensive on fleabay. Never tried to call them. I have a car stereo and speakers set up on the porch and another on a 2k...
Thought exponent, don't try this at home until they do and tell you it worked...
Can you have a small PV setup with microinverters connected to a EG4 3K output? Say you have a shed way in the back yard that is fed 120Vac from an Hybrid Inverter on the other side of the property. "What if" you...
for 16S "48V" batteries I prefer Bulk 56.2-56.4 and float 54.0 - 54.4. Looking at DC House charger 58.4V OUCH! I like the Switch mode input voltage of 100-240V.. If I could open it up and turn down the top volage I would buy one.
I agree that something had to disconnect otherwise the voltage would have to be the same being in parallel with the other batteries.
I also just installed the EG4 LiFePOWER4 Communications Hub this weekend. I believe it reads the batteries every 3 minutes. I haven't played with that feature...
I was looking at using this for my 1.5 HP well (above ground) and pool pump:

Enjoy!
