Their manuals are translated as best they can I suppose, a lot of discovery is trial and error. This is A go-to explanation of generator characteristics Box store equipment is usually >25% THD or more. Your new Trane variable furnace boards won't last long with that power. "In a traditional...

Do you think two will run a deep well pump without any trouble?.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar EG4 6.5K Off-Grid Inverter | 6500EX-48

Heat. I never even thought of that. Will two of these be ok running in an unconditioned garage with summer getting up to about 92 in there sometimes?. I plan to put the two inverters, load center, wiring, etc, just like Will's set up on the wall in the detached garage running 2224 alum 150 feet...

  • Post in thread: Spring overcurrent panel production makes both of my inverters trip

I cut down on the panels and the bus voltages were about 20 volts lower than yesterday's peak of 475. The inverters have not shut off yet today but one has now developed a fluctuating output from 105- 126 and so on. Lights starting flickering and I checked and saw the irratic output on one...

  • Post in thread: SunGold Power SP6548 Flickering lights after new install

Excellent information, thanks. I noticed that the A/C unit did ramp up slowly when it started. Shouldn't be an issue starting the 4 ton unit on two EG4's then. One day I will try it out. That's the only thing in the house I have not tried so far.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500EX-48 grid draw increases as PV starts up in the morning

Again, set to OSO in option 16, solar charging only bringing in 1300 watts, and in SUB mode with no loads attached I am pulling 450-500 watts from the utility. Why is it pulling 500w from the utility when charging the batteries from solar only and zero loads are running?. I switched to SBU mode...
  • Post in thread: Remotely reboot Solar Assistant?

I have used the reboot option in the configuration tab before. The issue Issue I have is that it works fine most of the time but then I check the webpage and it says cannot connect like it loses wifi. So I have no way to hit the reboot button in the program since it's not working/ connected. I...
  • Post in thread: Signature solar 200A breakers help

I just bought what they recommended. Will has 300A fuses in his so I thought it may not be enough. On his recommended parts page were these breakers or 300A fuses. Complete 48V Package Parts List EG4 6500EX All-in-one Solar Power System: Click Here to Purchase (if the unit above is out of...
  • Post in thread: Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

Oleman,You need to put a load on the generator first like a small heater then it will lock on and work. I had to do this and it synced up fine.

9000 is steep, what are you checking it with as I want to check my 1hp that is 550 ft down.
  • Post in thread: EG4's in split phase output

I think you hit the nail on the head.I was running the system with the xfer switch in the main panel not switched on as this is a test. With that transfer switch not on and both bonding screws removed I would have no bond anywhere at this point true?
  • Post in thread: LVX 6048 high or low?

Either the TP6048 Sungold or the MPP LVX6048, they the same unit. The LVX6048WP is a different unit and I'm not referring to that one.
  • Post in thread: Matching panels to inverter output

I will have the grid and batteries. I was just curious.
  • Post in thread: Solar panels mounted on trailer

Correct, not worried about wind loads or codes here, they are anchored down pretty well. I will move the trailer inside the pole barn if the wind reports are scary enough, unplug 4 connectors, and roll. Now if the relatives want to borrow the trailer too bad. I do have a ground rod within 100...
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500EX-48 grid draw increases as PV starts up in the morning

Thanks for the reply, Tim. So best to not use SUB mode if you are trying to reduce your electric bill I suppose. Good to know the equipment is functioning normally.
  • Post in thread: Anyone using a generator to charge batteries on MPP LV6548?

I have one, get the optional 100x probe to be safe measuring voltage. The output on my inverters is cleaner than my grid voltage.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar EG4 6.5K Off-Grid Inverter | 6500EX-48

It's their top of the line inverter model
  • Post in thread: Signature solar 200A breakers help

Perfect, that's what I will do as well thanks. Those screw-on lugs were the issue. Also, the line and load don't matter in this instance. I was trying to make the inverter the load but that put breakers upside down, a no-no for inspectors. Thanks for the help. 6-way box as well. I had two 4 ways.
  • Post in thread: Need some help with EG4 6500 EX

I will have to look into back-feeding a breaker So you connect the inverters one to each panel lug instead of going through a breaker first?. Any good pictures of this and what are the advantages of doing it either way?. I looked at how Will did his through breakers but then heard a lot of...
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar EG4 6.5K Off-Grid Inverter | 6500EX-48

People were sold on these because they had "No problem communicating with eg4 batteries". Judging from the many problem posts here, that statement carries little weight. I have two not unboxed yet and I hope I don't have to return them.

This made me think about it. I have a new furnace with all the fancy stuff and I think I will add a protector to it now. Thanks.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500 EX Inverter setup issues.

What a great reply, thanks for taking the time to show me how yours is set up. Perfectly explained. I will do as you do and feed the inverters separately using the 2/0 cable and the 200A dc breakers I already have. I see you and Will did not daisy chain the batteries but I have seen a few videos...

  • Post in thread: EG4 6500 Power Output Problem

I just went through all the settings again 2p1 and 2p2 180 are correct as well. Does/ did he have his bonding screws removed from inside the inverters? I had them both removed but re-installed one last night. When I did that my separated neutrals and grounds in the sub panel were now bonded. I...
