I have wired the A/C output of the inverters to a 60A breaker in the panel. On the A/C input circuit, they/ you are saying to have another 60A circuit going to the input just to charge 2 batteries?. If you can charge with a generator only putting out 30A or less I don't see why 60A service would...
Yes, minimize the generator usage. Instead of running to power the home just run it to help charge the batteries. Open to more choices on inverters, what do you own?.
I was thinking about a lockout device as well. I suppose I could just install another 60A breaker right above the other one from the inverter and switch them on and off accordingly.
Thanks. So settings made in solar assistant under battery settings edit will overide and replace what the inverters are set to on 12,13 etc I believe..
Thanks, Tim. Do you think the bus voltage could be why my inverters are shutting down? The highest pv voltage I have ever seen is about 190v per string, per inverter.. with fully charged batteries and little load. I can't find what the max bus voltage should be on these EG4 6500s, I do see max...
My setup seems to shut down when my panels are producing at their max as well. My two strings of 5 250-watt panels each can do only about 5A or 170 volts each, the most output total I have seen is 2100 watts total so I don't know what is shutting my two EG6500's off, they stay running with no...
Excellent work also one more question if I may. Where did you get that positive cable breaker box, I cannot make the ones I have work at all with big cables. I was trying to use two separate boxes but the breakers and lugs are too big to work. Any help here would be appreciated as I am stuck at...
Where did you get this cap, do you have a link and what type also where is it connected ?. I see it attached to terminals with no other wires attached.
I believe that was the case for the 240volt models that are available now. Supposedly the new 120v models are better in that regard but too
new to tell. Only available in Calif so far.
How would connect your generator to this panel?. This is Will's panel but I have it as well. Say the inverter are down and you wanted to just flip a different breaker in the panel to power the same loads the inverter was powering?. But not at the same time of course. Wonder if you could use the...
Thank You so much. I have two EG4 units, 120v units, so I will install one in each unit at the L and N output terminals I suppose. I would like to lessen the pull when my well pump starts and these may help.
"It depends.
If it is a single inverter that does dynamic NG bonding, then no; you should not remove the screw.
If it is stacked with more than one inverter then Yes, you should remove the screw on all but one of them."
I have two EG4 inverters which are feeding a transfer switch that is in the...
Charging with solar in standby mode is it normal for both inverters to shut off when it gets dark? Mine shut off.
Can I charge with solar in standby mode without the batteries being connected/turned on?
There has been discussion here on whether or not this unit https://sungoldpower.com/products/6000w-48v-hybrid-solar-inverter-split-phase-120-240vac
is a high or low-frequency unit. Has this been determined yet?. I am looking to buy if low frequency.
I the dual example with AC connection you provided in your redline series I still see one bonding screw removed. I thought it was determined to leave all bonding screws intact?>
I wired my two EG4-6500's Ac inputs to my generator through a 60A breaker in my sub-panel and tested it yesterday. One leg to each inverter. At first, the inverters would not connect, I heard the relays switching on and off. So I thought it must be dirty power from the generator, it's not an...
