I have 6x270w panels on the bunky roof.
16'x6' available roof space. Still have the other side if necessary, but I'm facing SW, so this is what works best for me.
This is my battery. I went with a 2awg single cable to and from the bms because it seemed like a good place to start. I have toyed with the idea of 3 x 6awg squeezed into a 2/0 lug, but haven't got that far yet. It's a working battery that has blown me away. I haven't done a capacity test yet...
I had the same problem when I switched to 24v, it took me a while to figure it out. If you have a MT50, you have to switch the voltage from auto to 24v. If no MT50 then I don't know. I'm 300km from my system right now.
I managed to pair it purely by accident.
After 24 hours of being unable to pair with my new phone, I was in the solar shed listening to 5 live on a bluetooth speaker, I tried again to connect to the bms, it paired immediately! If I go out of range, it will not reconnect unless I am using...
I wrote to Emily at JBD, and it seems the easiest thing to do is get a new dongle. So I ordered 5. I plan on building more batteries anyway, and the app was incredible while it worked. I'm also going to try getting my old phone fixed. Meanwhile, I'm guessing the SOC, but it's not a disaster.
I have a 24v, 280Ah battery with a JBD 150a bms, complete with bluetooth dongle. Everything was fine until my phone died. The bluetooth is paired with the phone. I have tried connecting with a different phone, but obviously it will not pair. Any suggestions?
This has been my first battery build, and it's been an adventure.
I love this BMS, and the app is unreal. The Bluetooth is so good that I can monitor the system from my neighbors house across the street. Emily at JBD has been a great help and the EVE 280Ah cells are amazing. Still a few tweaks...
I received my order yesterday. 8 x 280Ah EVE cells. I have been dealing with Emily at Basen, and have no complaints. Most of the cells had minor imperfections but all tested within 1mv. Currently charging, and balancing. So far so good.
I bought the 150A version. I know the overkill instructions are not for the bigger models, but the set up should be the same. Did you get the spec sheet?
Check out the solar shopping mall in Mississauga/Oakville. I bought "B" grade panels from them last year, no issues. They have 280w for $160. They usually have used panels cheap too!
