  • Post in thread: Signature Solar wins... I lose.

It's laughable that Signature still hasn't learned how to handle these issues. This thread, and many others, never would have been started if they would simply learn to say 'we are so sorry that you are not satisfied. What can we do within reason to make it right?' Sure it may cost you some...
  • Post in thread: I Will Never Buy A EG4 Inverter Again

Max Voc is a hard limit. If you don't know that, you should find a new hobby. Or hire a qualified electrician.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar disappointing service

Well i'll be goddamned! Someone at Signature Solar is capable of uttering those words! I sincerely applaud this gesture!
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar

As someone who has spent thousands of dollars with both companies, i can tell you the difference in service after the sale is night and day. When i was having an issue with Signatures batteries, Dexter from CC reached out to me to help me solve their problem. That says something about a company...
  • Post in thread: Rant: EG4 48v 100ah battery has faulty BMS. Signature solar customer service is TERRIBLE

Richard, one day you will learn that how the customer feels at the end of the transaction is the ultimate measure of customer service.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar disappointing service

Sometimes taking a financial loss is less harmful than the exposure you get when you refuse to satisfy a customers reasonable requests. I'm not saying that is the case here because we don't have all the info. But that statement can be applied to any number of threads regarding signature solars...
  • Post in thread: WWWS (what would Will Say) EG4 vs SOK server rack battery

To answer the eg4 vs sok, it's a no brainer imo. Get an SOK! There are lots of people using the eg4 lifepower battery with no issues but there is a significant number of people (myself included) who have experienced inverter startup issues with the lifepower batteries. The lifepower batteries...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

I wouldn't be either. IF their past is any indicator of their future behavior, they will have you send the unit back. It will work just fine in their shop and you will be what is commonly called double screwed.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar disappointing service

@Asymair95 Your complaint seems legit to me. Seems you did everything possible- opened the damaged box, called Signature while the driver was still there etc. If their customer service told you they would take care of you, they should have weeks ago. Typical poor communication and follow up...
  • Post in thread: Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

Agreed. As you and many others have stated, the problem is bms/pre-charge resistor related. I have a 250a main breaker between the battery and the inverter. I also have breakers on both of my midnite classics on both the input and the output side. I have tried powering up under every scenario...
  • Post in thread: Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

Drove to Sulpher Springs this morning to get my 4 LL model batteries to swap with my lifepower batteries. Upon arriving, Richard tells me that they are looking for a fourth new battery for me. He then tells me that they have three used batteries- one is a shop demo and the other two he said he...
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar and the EG4-6000EX-48HV

Thanks for the suggestion. My suggestion for you, add me to your ignore list. You think i'm bashing them? That's funny. My experience with Signature Solar is relevant here, so i'm not sure what your problem is. I could 'bash' them in a lot more threads but i choose not to. This is like the...
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar

Hello Jess, i appreciate your efforts but at this point, i'm not gonna beat a 2 year old pile of dead bones that was once a horse. Ther's a 1000+ post thread you can check out if you're bored and wanna see how your company dropped the ball with my multiple purchases. One of the three things a...
  • Post in thread: My Signature Solar Experience (not good)

My impression is that SS ownership is laser focused on maximizing profitability at all costs. I can only imagine the profit margin on panels that are bought 100k at a time and then sold individually.
  • Post in thread: Did It!! I ordered my Trophy Batteries :)

The packaging in a wooden crate is also really cool. I was also really happy to see the owner step up and seem to take care of those that were having issues. BIG plus! I just can't get over the design. I hate to admit i care about the aesthetics of something that will rarely be seen, but the...
  • Post in thread: WWWS (what would Will Say) EG4 vs SOK server rack battery

@HighCountryBill @Scott Martinez @merritt2828 @Jack Rabbit Off Grid @wandertosee @Mahendra Gomanie @Purgatory @Trkarl @Koldsimer All of us have had similar issues starting our non growatt inverters with the lifepower batteries. Some have just decided to live with the problem, some can't do...
  • Post in thread: Rant: EG4 48v 100ah battery has faulty BMS. Signature solar customer service is TERRIBLE

Just the latest story of poor service from signature solar. Doesn't seem to matter how much you spend, they just aren't very good at resolving issues. If you're really lucky, the owner (James) will insult you on a public forum after taking thousands of your dollars! SOK all day over eg4. I own...
  • Post in thread: Assuming you pay $0.12/KWh, can you ever come out ahead going full offgrid?

I think there's more to this conversation than simple cost per kwh. For me, the reliability of my setup and the independence it offers is something i'm very proud of. When the blizzard/snowmageddon hit a couple years ago, and my friends were burning their wood chairs in the fireplace to keep...
  • Post in thread: Praise for Current Connected for warranty help on SOK 48V100 battery

I've had both good and bad experiences in the past with solar vendors. Any company can sling products out the door, but a true measure of their service is how they respond when things go wrong. In a similar fashion, Dexter and Current Connected EARNED 100% of my business long ago.
  • Post in thread: Rant: EG4 48v 100ah battery has faulty BMS. Signature solar customer service is TERRIBLE

Great look for a business owner to taunt a customer that has given them thousands of dollars.
  • Post in thread: Lithium Batteries (LiFePo4) - how safe are they ? - (wife getting paranoid)

It's funny seeing people worry about ev fires. Like we haven't been driving around for the past 60 years with 20 gallon tanks full of gasoline mere feet away barreling 80mph down the highway. What could go wrong? Hell, i had a nice old dodge d200 that had the tank in the cab. Safe much?
  • Post in thread: 40 SEER - Are they real?

My experience with my Pioneer 12kbtu has taught me a couple things.... These mini split systems tend to ramp up for a short time then settle into a lower energy consumption mode in most conditions. I imagine that those 40 seer numbers are somehow fudged by using these low usage times to...
  • Post in thread: Off grid in Grand Saline, Texas- Hello!

Hello everyone! Been using the forum for quite some time now and thought i'd finally join and introduce myself. I'll try to keep it as short as possible... My wife and i decided to sell our house in Allen, Tx. and find something more rural and quiet. I ended up finding 17 acres of beautiful...
  • Post in thread: What constitutes a "charge cycle" on a Lifepo4 100ah battery?

I've always understood one cycle to represent one full use of the rated capacity of the battery.
  • Post in thread: 9000 BTU Mini Split Heat Pump Hi SEER Ratings: Innovair vs LG vs Mitsu (etc) Worth it?

I've got two of the pioneer 12k btu 120v 21 seer units to heat and cool my 1200sqft off grid cabin. Couldn't be much happier. I was considering higher end brands but in the end, all the positive reviews on the pioneer units steered me their direction. Glad i saved the money because these things...
  • Post in thread: Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

what you do to yourself in your office is your business. Don't involve me... LOL sorry, had to Seriously, i hope tomorrow brings some answers
  • Post in thread: Mini Split AC spec question

I believe the spec you are referring to is the max outside temperature that the unit will work properly to produce heat. You aren't likely to be using the heater inside when it's 64 degrees outside or warmer, so it's sort of irrelevant. If you are interpreting that number as the warmest it...
  • Post in thread: Rant: EG4 48v 100ah battery has faulty BMS. Signature solar customer service is TERRIBLE

Way to stay positive! I'm 100% off grid and love the independence.
  • Post in thread: Eg4 Lifepower4 battery is ticking on start

Not assumptions, just flat out bs. My system had four of their lifepower batteries and it wouldn't start one inverter. My problem didn't happen with 4 other brands/types/chemistries. Just like you and many others. I don't even know where to start with that video.... How does taking over 6...
  • Post in thread: Schneider xw pro 6848 not powering up with eg4 lithium battery

Well, success! To some degree anyway... Schneider Tech made some recommendations that finally worked. He read this thread and agreed that somehow, the battery was cutting current likely related to the resistor and bms settings. They recommended I hook up the batteries in parallel with no...
