I don't have voltage drop issues anymore, but I would consider adding capacitors if I saw high dc ripple warnings, possibly.
I don't use redflow batteries (exotic chemistry?), but otherwise here's an example of how to add additional DC capacitors to my inverter. It doesn't look expensive and...
I'm noticing my BMS amps drop to nothing during small current draws... But the Ah consumed/SoC keep changing a little bit right? So it's sensing it and calculating but not communicating it would be my theory but I haven't looked at it personally like you have.
I hadn't said anything because I...
You wire your entire system together and then only turn the batteries on one at a time until they're all 100%.
You don't need an external charger, you'll use the hybrid inverter to charge the batteries one at a time by only turning one circuit breaker on at a time... The hybrid inverter can...
I actually go to the freight terminal to pick up my server rack batteries because I want less people who aren't me to handle them.
But today was a pain, trying to buy solar rack at a traditional electrical supply house... They refuse to call back and something tells me it's going to suck going...
Leave me alone, JERK. No, I actually am not "James".
And your pearl clutching is transparent, act like a huge JERK for 50 posts and then suddenly get all shocked when somebody reacts.
Should we start addressing you as "James" also? Because it makes as much sense.
EDIT!!! I edited out the...
When the positive busbar connects to your first EG4, what is the order the wire lugs are stacked in??? Does it help if you change it so the bottom lug is the second EG4 battery, and the top lug is the busbar connect? (Not sure if that's the case already or not)
Ummm congrats?
The original poster already clarified they can run this welder off a 7KW generator. There's not even a need to really discuss welding at that point.
If they are taking action on a couple bad words, but are all good with how you act, I have issues with that.
EDIT!!! I removed three bad words from two prior posts based on this guidance.
Where did you hear that an inverter is supposed to be able to run on PV only? Go back to that source of information for troubleshooting would be my suggestion since they're the people who set you up with some "interesting" expectations.
Sure, it might work for the model you're using, or it...
Your battery bank wiring should follow a standard approach... If you connect to the negative post of the bottom battery instead of using both top battery posts, you would have "diagonally" connected wiring (see Victron Wiring Unlimited).
The factory 6' wires? Are you talking about the wires running to the inverter now?
I'm talking about the wires between the battery and the busbar--if they're 4GA, I'd change them to 2GA.
Sorry if I have misunderstood these details.
The factory busbar wires on these batteries are (EDIT)...
There is an electrical path for the Generator input into the unit, if that path is compromised in some way, I'm going to guess inverter is not charger as much as you want inverter to be charger. I also believe there are electronics and control circuitry involved, which is probably the failure as...
Seems like getting off the TX power grid entirely would be the most responsible thing you could do if you don't want to be associated with those clowns who would go out of their way to pollute, the people running TX.
Oh that would cost you more? So it's not about the planet.
It's your money, but have you talked to many people who use these lower quality inverters and use their 5th wheels often?
It's not just the idle consumption, they can (victron powerassist) also hook up to a 20A circuit, charge your batteries, use all 20A available, but then also supplement...
sten, please let me know if unwelcome or unhelpful and I'll just delete this, best wishes with resolution on the issue!!!
I don't think there's another real solution other than adding another battery, replacing the BMS, or moving to 3kw inverters instead... Personally I don't think they're...
My reliable WZRELB 12v 2000w (pure sine) inverter starts doing this when the DC voltages start hitting around 14.6 if I remember correctly. Stopped using it and moved to 48v instead. I might try using that inverter with some lithium batteries in the future, because it definitely couldn't handle...
You probably want a shunt if you want to accurately measure small currents.
Victron BMV712 if you want a nicer (shunt based) battery monitor that also has a built-in screen. It also has a couple other features that smartshunt doesn't.
If you add a RaspberryPi with VenusOS installed to a...
Has legacy system/interop issues... Refuses to share the most basic data about system configurations. Can't get a clamp meter out because he isn't will prowse and owns MAGNUM SUPARSHUNT. What a character! Maybe better for you to buy at the RV store and pay the prices there.
It takes all kinds...
I have an SW2012 (I believe) sitting under the house. It had already been disconnected when I moved here (there was no working inverter replacing it). I doubt it's worth trying to find out what's wrong with it.
Anything cool I can do with the transformer etc?
The biggest complaints with it are with user interface it seems like. It'll show a little bit of its math also if you click the right buttons.
The old excel version is more technical/transparent (and it gets updated with the new controllers so it's an option).
Yep. I think you're totally right about that display and its' cost. It has little appeal to me and probably many other value conscious people.
Fortunately it is only one of many options, most of which are free/much cheaper.
How much load is going through your inverter when this happens?
What is the running voltage of the system during this testing (on a video)? What is the Min/Max voltage of the system during this test procedure?
Have you connected the windows software for BMS interface? This would show why the...
A set of 300A busbars for $40 sounds amazing, I'd also like to know more about their behavior during a test. My battery bank fuse is 125A (class t) and I want to use the new busbars on the loads side. I don't need them to be all-the-way legit is what I'm saying I guess, worth whatever a 125A...
First off, this was a great deal...
The $41.75 USPS shipping for something that I'm pretty sure is $15 flat rate, priority mail to my address erodes it by a few dollars. It's still a great deal. EDIT: and may be coming up more expensive when I'm in Hawaii because they aren't using a flat rate...
Ummm yeah, time to pull out the grandpa awards on this one, putting code into github does not mean that it has a complicated install process. That has nothing to do with how you install it, that is how its' code is being source controlled. When you make beta or stable release, it's typical for...
Not sure why you bought a separate battery charger. Your inverter has a battery charger.
And yes you need to make a string of panels that generates over 120V before anything will turn on with that MPPT--typically not an issue, you just put enough panels into a string to make enough volts (you...
If you have existing battery packs, so far, the VenusOS dbus-serialbattery driver doesn't support them yet, or it didn't last time I tried a couple months ago.
I did find some go code on github that was able to pull some data off the packs so I have some hope that we'll get this battery hacked...
You have a cerbogx already??? Is it on your wifi network?
You can connect to it using it's IP address in a web browser. The web user interface looks the same as the CerboGX display.
That's it... I'm appointing myself the president of the Lifepower4-51.2V-NO LCD Appreciation Society...
Maybe I should hook up a brand new Multiplus II 48/3000 and stress test it with my two Lifepower4 packs that work today... Maybe even wire up a second MultiII in parallel and see how much of...
Okay take the amount you are considering spending on eflex and then use that same money to buy SOKs. I'm guessing it's a much larger bank.
What about the SOK server rack batteries? That's what I want to get next but they won't help arrange a shipment to Hawaii unfortunately.
I have a couple...
My experience may be specific to the Multiplus II 48/3000, but I doubt it.
Use the correct wire. Your inverter output (or input) will fail after installation if you don't use the right wire. I've seen it happen on both the AC out and the AC in (generator wire), several weeks after...
Your HDMI port on your laptop is an output (extra computer screens showing programs on your laptop).
I don't believe it works as an input.
You use a web browser to access the CerboGX over the network, and then you can see it without connecting an HDMI cable.
I have a dead magnum here, and magnum doesn't even bother to respond to inquiries about where I can get it fixed. People who think Magnum is top tier have just never had an issue with it yet.
I recently sent a reminder to NAWS (arizona wind and solar) that the inverter they sold me ended up...
And what happens when you remove grid power?
A similar thread that I read said that everything worked great as soon as the grid input was removed and it has me wondering. I'm sorry if you already answered this! I've been following the thread and forgot if that's the case.
I'm a huge fan of the Victron Multiplus II 48/3000VA. I have the raspberrypi instead of cerbogx--and Victron's online monitoring offering is bleeding edge. The charts use grafana for example which is the industry leader at this point.
The only drawback from my viewpoint is that now I need to...
