Just to set the record straight for everyone here. This was user error. Not growatt. Not watts247. My fault. polarity was reversed for my pv input. I have no idea how I did that. But I did. I was immature and began blaming equipment and others for not making it right. I’m deeply sorry...
  • Post in thread: Lots of new things on the compound

Hello all I was able to get my growatt 6000t working properly every time I need it. I’ve been using it for about a month now with no issues. It’s an amazing feeling after a year to turn the lights on at night and not need a flash light or candle. It’s amazing to just sit down and watch a...

i just grabbed the same inverter and got it today. you just explained months of research into basic understanding. thankyou
  • Post in thread: Self sustainable shipping container

I attached a picture of my current interior layout with cabinets and what not. It’s super comfortable for my usage. How do you like the rainwater? I’m definitely considering making a system for harvesting similar to your set up until I can afford my $20,000 well

There’s several things in your response that I need to do more research on. I appreciate your response and it makes perfect sense and I’m grateful for the blocking diode. I’m also grateful for you for explaining this to me and quickly helping me out.
  • Post in thread: Wall mounted battery thoughts?

in a perfect world and in new construction we would put nailer blocks behind the drywall to accomadate a lag bolt. youll be fine with a lag bolt going into a stud but i highly doubt your stud layout will work with the layout on the battery unless theyre using a french cleat style holder like...

That’s looking awesome can’t wait to see those freezers and leds running
  • Post in thread: My growatt battery won’t communicate with my growatt inverter.

So protocol should be set to 51 opposed to just 1. Manual doesn’t state this but that’s the only way to communicate. It works
  • Post in thread: Growatt 6000t all in one Firmware updated

I believe I got a bad unit from the distributor. I swapped out for an eg4 and all is well in my neck of the woods.
  • Post in thread: Dc mini breaker confusion

After several days of the system being off. I can verify the breaker is working properly. I have 150ish volts coming into the breaker. 0v leaving the other end of the breaker. This is what I was trying to accomplish the whole time. I want to be able to stop power going into my unit at any...
  • Post in thread: My growatt battery won’t communicate with my growatt inverter.

Yes I did! In protocol options in setting #05 Input L51 51 It’ll give you something like L01-51 Change the 0 to a 5 and you’re good to go.
  • Post in thread: Self sustainable shipping container

Hi my names Ryan and I’m new to the forum. Im building out a 45’ shipping container with intentions of being fully sustainable/off the grid/ and debt free at the end of my build. It has a kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. I’m in the rough phases of construction at the moment but I’d say...
  • Post in thread: Self sustainable shipping container

Thankyou for your answer. I’m honestly leaning more towards the growatt option because it is a little cheaper …you’re right! It is a lot more power. It’s a single inverter that supplies a split phase output so I can easily run my panel. The only good thing at the moment about the delta for...

I’ll check it out more in depth this week.
  • Post in thread: Growatt SPF6000T dvm beeping

I’ve got the same inverter. The Beep can be disabled! It says how to do it in the manual. I don’t have it in front of me at the moment but it’s possible.
  • Post in thread: I’m a little confused hooking up my growatt spf 6000t dvm-mpv

Appreciate that! Definitely not gonna happen that way. I’m gonna look into this Grounding plate
  • Post in thread: Growwatt 6k Shore Power Issue

If I were you I would run a dedicated 240v wire from your service panel directly to the inverter. As stated above. No neutral needed. That being said. Use your black and red hot legs and the ground and plug and play. Don’t connect the neutral to anything.
  • Post in thread: Grounding my container?

I’ve been pretty confused about two things with my system. I have a 45’ shipping container. I’m trying to keep it safe. It’s powered by a growatt 6k AIO and an EG4 life power battery with 6 -235 watt panels in series. My output from the growatt is 240v which supplies my AC electrical panel...

If you build it out of metal you can just start over after you clean up all the ashes
  • Post in thread: looking for opinions

I just got the growatt 6kw all in one. It made sense for my needs. Growatt battery from sig solar can be stacked on top of one another instead of in a server rack which I thought was simple and cool

Long story short. Growatt 6kw and Growatt AXE c1 battery (5kwh) They’re working. I went through a bms loss of communication Fixed with protocol option being changed in setting 05 L 51 51 for growatt AXE c1 communication. Fault code 03 Fixed by letting battery sit for 24hours or by firmware...

  • Post in thread: Any experience with the Growatt AXE 5.0-C1 battery?

None as far as I know! I returned the axe and went with eg4. You’r setup looks beautiful. How’s it working for you?

I never looked at it like that. I also have some sparky pets lol can’t live without em
  • Post in thread: Solar sadness

Yeah I’m hoping that’s the case. I got the inverter and my new battery turned on tonight. I changed the protocol options from 51 to l01 and the unit worked as intended. I still haven’t hooked up the ac output to any loads to verify if the fan and everything else works or not yet but I’ll wrench...

  • Post in thread: My growatt battery won’t communicate with my growatt inverter.

I’ve been battling this for a week now. Battery arrives needing a wake up signal from PCS. Okay. I hook everything up properly. Nothing. I’m checking my 240v ac input. Looks great. I’m checking dc voltage at battery terminals on inverter. 1.4-1.6vdc. Weird right? I get to thinking how my...

  • Post in thread: 2 gauge thhn

2 gauge is what came with the battery so I was assuming it’d be fine. I thought 1 gauge would be better. Less resistance right?

  • Post in thread: GROWATT AXE C-1

Hey Thankyou. My concern is that it will attempt to precharge whether i do that or not. I used a pencil one time as a resistor and it didn’t make any difference. In theory the battery pack should be doing that for me automatically. This is one of the reasons I bought the battery.

  • Post in thread: How to make a small compressed air generator?

Pretty normal in tanks. You do not want to use that air/water/rust for airbrushing. You’ll ruin your gun. Definitely put an in line filter and drain tank after uses like it sounds like you’re doing
  • Post in thread: My growatt battery won’t communicate with my growatt inverter.

The port labeled PCS on the battery is your input for the Ethernet style cable the other end goes to the port labeled BMS on your inverter. This is also what you would use to wake the battery if your battery is stuck in protective mode.
  • Post in thread: Self sustainable shipping container

Welp I got everything temporarily hooked up and running in the shipping container. I’m using this growatt battery which is a royal pain in the ass. I continued to get fault code 20 for two weeks and couldn’t charge my battery. Sig solar provided me with a protocol option that wasn’t listed in...

I love it. It sounds like you know what you’re doing in life. I’m glad I’m not the only one. These were designed to be shipped over seas and stacked on top of one another. It’s amazing how easily the boxes will move with a big machine. I used a larger skid steer to move mine around and I...

Lol my family never had cable from the time I was born to when I departed. When I departed I got it and realized Netflix was a thing around the same thing. I didn’t spend much time in front of a screen. I swear I didn’t live in a trailer mansion like that either even though it sounds like...

Try twisting a shipping container. I’ve chopped mine up pretty good and haven’t seen any warping or twisting yet. I reinforced my openings just like any other building. Jack studs&headers&sill plate.

EXACTLY! That was a tough pill to swallow at first but yeah that’s exactly my conclusion as well.
