Greeting All,
Everything is humming along. I've ditched the somewhat limited 5KW 120VAC only Growatt Autotransformer and have successfully Reversed Engineered the 16K, this early spring. I just hated the low humming buzzing noise of a traditional transformer. The 16K is operating in UL1741 US...
The 16K was purchase with the idea of replacing the pair of Parallel Deye 8K Split phase with 51.2KW of LFP Battery backup. When I initially sized up the LFP battery based on 3 days of backup on the assumption of 3 days of cloudy days. With the 2022 Heat Wave, the battery run out of juice and...

The cable glens are now much larger the the 8K
Nicely built solid wire separators
Sweet, two built in 200A DC Battery Breakers. The two sets of M8 battery post are parallel internally, allowing for balancing two sets of battery bank.
Gen, Grid and Load input terminals are now...
Here's how I intend to wire up for Split-Phase 120V~240V 60 HZ application.
16K LOAD output L N wired to the Victron 100A Autotransformer L N 100A double pole circuit breaker
Victron 100A Autotransformer ?
Earlier this year, there's a big discussion about installing of the Growatt ES500...
16K wired up to GRID and entered into operational state "AC" & "Normal" and start inverting powering LOAD with 120V/120V on both L1(L) and L2(N). Link to YouTube video with be posted soon.
Buy it for $8,250.00
Buy it for $5,599.00
Buy it for $2,628.00
There's always a cheaper and more capable option if you look harder, beyond Plano, TX to their supplier in Ningo, China ?
But then, this is not for folks that needs hand holding, UL 1741, and blah blah.
I don't claim to know everything, but I do know a thing or two. I've no objection to Sol-Ark products and I've used them, but I'm questioning the strong arm tactics of preventing even the OEM manufacturer that manufactured their products out of the US market. They wanted the entire market to...
Finally, Inverter and AutoTrans mounted onto the wall and completing all wiring. I installed 107KW of Battery + current 2*Parallel 8K with 51KW, with a total of 158KW on demand ?
Deye 16K configuration. Inverter operational status, NORMAL LED is GREEN and start inverting, as such there's VAC on the LOAD terminals. Take note of the "Inverter" and "Load" menu, L1~120V L2~120V that's Split-phase 60HZ without a Autotransformer !!
The sales from Felicity send me the Serial communication kit that consist of RS232 DB9 adapter to USB for PC, RS485 to RS232 Adapter wired to a RJ45 to the Battery RS485 port.
Just finished wiring up the entire 300A battery pack in parallel for Balancing. It will not talk to the older version...
Thanks for the ARM & DSP Version info. You're right, MR firmware developer could easily keep a log for each version of binary they released, listing bugs fix and new features.
Inverter is powered by Simulated Battery bank using a Variable DC Power Supply with CV. Normal LED is Solid Green and status is ON. entering into Inverting state with live Voltage delivered to the LOAD output.
Inverter self consuming about 53.4V*1.81A=98W, great power efficiency for such a big...
Hi,
In my current setup, I've installed an Eaton 3-way transfer switch that will provide the flexibility to be On and Off grid. The system is connected with Gird with grid-sell Disabled. I normally run the Inverter in Off-grid mode and will pull power from the Grid when I run low on the 200A...
Hi,
Here's a pics of a well built Deye 16K Single phase version of their latest Hybrid Inverter, a distance cousin of Sol-Ark's 15K. Just one 1KW more ????
The hardware build is pretty impressive. It have two built in 200A DC circuit breaker for two sets 1 AWG battery M8 input connectors...
I have 3 units, 1 Sold 2 of the Deye 8K-SG01LP1-US Split-phase 120V/240V 60HZ with UL 1741 Certification and here's the details.
. Functional equivalent to the Sol-Ark 12K, from the same factory that manufactured the Sol-Ark products.
. the units were pampered in 24x7 AC at 72 degrees...
Sol Ark 15 != Deye 16K, you got your facts wrong. Check the specs. The Sol-Ark 15K will only output 12KW on the LOAD output (UPS/Battery), while the Deye is 16KW.
This my 16K OFF-GRID, the LOAD in this stress test were generated by the following.
1. L1 + L2 Level 2 EV charging on 240V
2. L1...
I will be posting results of initial power up without Battery & Solar, testing and inverter configurations results shortly. It will be following by testing Split-phase 120V/240V testing after receiving the Victron 100A Autotransformer from Signature Solar.
Stay tuned.
Don't ask robby anymore. Here's the little patent secret, Thomas Brennan has invented some kinda ink-jet contraption that was later use in the Sol-Ark products design, to create that beautiful logo. It's design in the Plano, TX and manufactured in Ningbo, China. ...
I install it in my uber luxury RV for off-grid application in Mexico, no inspection required Señor. Inspector
jfpetesn !!! ??? BTW, I created this tread to document my experience with an off-grid Deye 16K. But y'all Sol-Ark fanboys has kept me busy with Women and Axe griding, its wearing me...
Oh one more thing .... Power consumption of the 16K and Growatt AST
Deye 16K at idle consume 54.55V*1.4A = 76.37w
At idle with 16K and AST 54.55V*1.77A = 96.55w,
The Growatt AST only consume a meager 20.18w at idle and that's a Transformer people, that can handle high inductive load ?
Hi,
Attached is the Deye 7.6K/8K US PDF document on Page 44. The MAX Continuous AC Passthrough is 50A. My Deye 8K is Grid-Tie, I've installed a 50A breaker with 6 AGW wire (per NEC code). However, if you're installing it off Grid, the unit is capable of 16KW Peak Power for 10 seconds. It...
