Please post a picture of the front of the unit. Its very interesting that you were able to get one of these and not the megarevo R7.6KLNA.
Please also post the vendor you used to help out others of this forum.
Is anyone running the 0605 release in parallel? I'm having an issue with the slave unit reporting twice its load. The Main unit is correctly reporting its load based on the current its drawing from the battery. On the slave unit, however, it is reporting twice its load. What this does is...
I am running DIY batteries with no comm to the inverter. I had to set my battery capacity to 1000Ah in order to maximize the charge current to the batteries. It seems the inverter was limiting power when I had it set to 280Ah. It might be worth a try to temporarily change battery settings to...
I don't really have a good communication channel. Luckily, @fromport has had some communication success and has been essential in helping to get my system to where it is today.
I just flashed back to the original parallel firmware with DSP 2.04.11 and everything is working as expected.
I'm looking to DIY a solar set up for my house/workshop but I'm unsure if I should go fully off-grid, or keep it grid-tied. I've done plenty of reading over the past few years, many youtube videos, etc. I guess the internet knowledge means I'm about an expert now, right? Hah!
Anyway, I'm...
You need to look at Voc and also your temp correction. I'm not sure min temperature where you are. Lets assume 5C. Panel is rated at 25C. You need to look up correction factor. Lets assume .30. This means at coldest day your panel will output about 52V. 9 panels at 52V will be 468V, too...
I updated mine from a laptop. I also had file not found error with the files in the program directory. Moving them to root fixed the issue, as you mentioned. I have not had any battery issues yet, and I'm happy to report that the data stream has not frozen yet
I have diy LiFePO4 batteries running in Lead Acid mode. It is no problem. Just be sure to set your values properly. Whether or not the unit is safe, that's another issue.
Billyboy12, These megarevo inverters DO shut off the load every morning unless you disable the safety check. IF you are using grid, it will put the inverter into bypass mode, but without grid, your load will be cut off.
I want to hook "Load 1" to a 40A breaker in a subpanel from each inverter. (sub panel will have two 40A breakers, one for each inverter). Then run my critical loads off that panel. The guide says to connect them together BEFORE the breaker. I'm just wondering how you chose to do it.
A reboot should clear the error in the interim, but you'll have to know the loads to predict why its happening. Are you using the solarman wifi adapter? Can you share the consumption graphs?
Your numbers are similar to mine. I'm using the A40L, and when I mentioned it to Jenny Wu, she suggested testing at only 30A to get advertised numbers.
That graph is what happens when "Bus Over Vol" Error pops up. The error occurred at approx 8:30am and will put the inverter in standby until I restarted at noon. I'm not sure what is causing the error.
Very interesting. I also ordered one of these inverters, but have not received it yet. They did email me the manual, however, and it is the same as you posted here.
Thanks for the info. Yes, it looks like mine are stamped 90A/90ma and are indeed a 16mm hole. Did those CTs work for you? I will gladly send you mine for the help.
Interesting! The MR8k chatter has been quiet lately. I would have probably sent a reset to it once I noticed that happened.
Off Topic, I'm still trying to buy (or warranty) replacement parts for 1 of my 3, no luck yet. I've contacted MR and many sellers on the Ali sites, can't source a...
I'm not upset with the price. I've been on the waiting list for the LVX6048WP for a while, and figured this was a good value. Now that the WP price has gone up to $2200, I'm happy I at least got the ball rolling with this GSL. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will show up with the new screen?
I also wanted to add, that while not as seamless, this inverter works with the included wifi dongle and home assistant if you are able to do a bit of DIY work.
It's great to see the Solar Assistant team putting in the effort to support this!
What is your charge protect voltage set to? Make sure you increase the charge protection voltage higher than your desired charge voltage for Lead-Acid if NOT using communication. In lead-acid this is either 59.5v or 60.0v max depending on firmware. If you are using communication from your (4)...
My units both use USB-C. I installed the update software, then plugged in the USB cable, and the com port shows up in my device manager. I use that com port in the drop down, and it works fine. The only catch is that you need the .axf and .out files in the root directory of your drive or it...
I have toggled that setting in the past, but wasn't sure what it did. I will see if I have it disabled, and report back tomorrow morning.
I wish there was actual documentation to the rest of those settings too.
I'm using Home Assistant, not Solar assistant, but will SA not allow you to just connect via BT using an ESP32?
I'm able to run wireless with the ESP32 connecting to the JK via BT, then uploading the data via WIFI, but I'm not sure how the SA interfaces. In my scenario, its easier than...
Solar assistant *should* be working, although I haven't tried it. Home Assistant works perfectly for me.
It's still early in the morning, but here are some stats:
Notice I'm still on old firmware which has the PV3/4 low production bug.
Does anyone know the firmware version # posted above? I finally got my unit powered up yesterday and the versions that came loaded are:
ARM: V1.03.06
DSP: C1.04.06
I'm told there is 'supposedly' a firmware update coming that will allow parallel of these units, but no idea if that will ever...
For the heck of it... these are my Docan batteries. All Eve-LF280K testing using ZKE A40L. Charge 40A to 3.65v @ 5A, wait 1hr, discharge 40A to 2.5v. Voltage refers to what the ZKE read before loading the test file. Regardless of data, I'm using 3 JK BMSs, and they have been working...
I'm installing my 280Ah 16s pack with a GSL (Megarevo) 8K inverter and 200A JK BMS. 8000w/48v/.85=196A. 196A*1.25=245A or 250A Class T Fuse.
I happen to have a 300A Class T fuse from a different project I didn't end up using. I am wiring battery to switch & inverter with 2/0 Super Vu-tron...
Very interesting. I get these 'spikes' too and I've been paying more attention to them lately. When they occur for me, they always drop down to whatever my load is. This tells me there is plenty of solar to power the load directly, but its essentially 'turning off' charging to the battery...
Firmware is updated via the USB port of the inverter using the 'stream' program that is included in most of the firmware zip files. You should be able to get the firmware from your distributor, or some have been linked in this thread.
