It is finally time to up size my PV. I know people have had issues with these inverters, but most of mine seem to be resolved since the parallel firmware was released. I am off grid so I avoid a lot of issues that relate to selling back or switching between solar/battery/grid. I still have a...
I updated my firmware this evening. So far the only change I've noticed is that it doesn't constantly display "Gird low vol" and "Grid low freq" due to running off grid. I found it funny that grid was spelled correctly in only one of the errors.
I have had 2 of these running for the past 7 months, and are now using them in parallel. I've been fairly happy with them, despite having near zero customer support.
I am running 2 lifts and a 120v air compressor off-grid with my 8k unit. My pumps have been wired for 240 and it is no issue. If your motor can be rewired to 240, you should have no problem.
I have since installed a 2nd unit and more batteries but 1 unit ran the shop just fine. Inverters are...
Looks like I stopped getting notifications via the bell icon (I disabled emails), and missed a bunch of these MR posts. Thanks again to @fromport for keeping the firmware database.
Its on a 30A GFCI breaker. If only I could figure out how to rewire to it to charge the batteries :ROFLMAO:
None. I also charge my Tesla at 30A for hrs on end with no issues. I admit there were plenty of firmware issues and I had to do a LOT of digging to get the modbus protocol working with...
If you're on old firmware, check out this other thread.

I thought this was just a parallel inverter issue, or something with my panels. Turns out it was a bug in the firmware that doesn't maximize mppt 3/4. It...
That is exactly what it is. My battery is 560 ah (2x 280Ah). I changed that setting and immediately the fan ramped up and I'm charging 95A. I flashed back to old firmware and it works there too.
Whenever I update, I turn off the PV disconnect switch so it doesn't keep turning on/off during the update reboots. THEN after update when I turn PV disconnect back on, PV resumes
As @fromport said, there is some calibration that can be done via modbus. The 2v thing really messed things up because I have solar strings into both inverters. Once that inverter 'thought' the target voltage was reached, it would stop producing power via solar. Once I sent an new calibration...
Wow! Consider yourself extremely lucky in my opinion. I tried to order this inverter thru them and they refused to sell it to me. What I received was a Megarevo, NOT the Deye.
There is a note that the Slave won't output power until it 'sees' the master. On the old firmware, I can turn each inverter on or off at random and the load never drops, it doesn't seem to matter. I never switch off the breakers to the panel. I'm not sure if it matters, but I haven't had an...
I was lucky enough to obtain a copy of the latest firmware (Thank you!) and have confirmed that parallel function is now supported for these inverters. Unfortunately, I only have 1 inverter wired up right now since the parallel function was not available when I did the initial install. I'm...
My cells were all tested in my house at 40A. The temperature does NOT vary all that much. My EBC-A40L may not be accurate, but I would hope that it would at least be consistent. One batch of cells (LF280K) was all over the place, and my latest batch of cells (LF280K) from Jenny Wu were very...
I've had two of these inverters for about a year now. I've had to self-learn a lot of the features, updates, programming, logging, etc. with the help of this DIY community. I wish the forum had a "wiki" feature where users can edit the first message of a post to add this sort of info. Lots of...
I just installed HASS today, and I've been playing around all day trying to pull the numbers from the WIFI stick into the interface. I have found a few parameters, but today is my first day ever with Home Assistant, Python, Modbus, etc. LOL. Its been a looooong day. :ROFLMAO:
Well, oddly enough, I noticed that my firmware page showed ARM: V1.03.06 but DSP: V0.00.00.
I figured it was worth a try so I grabbed the firmware from the other thread, uploaded it to the inverter and rebooted. Sure enough, its back up and running.:unsure:(y)
In the solarman interface, there is 'inverter' and 'logger' under the 'devices' tab. Click on logger tab, then your logger for the parameters. I don't know what the latest is, but 1.24 is when I noticed the expanded information.
With regards to the settings, these can also be done via the Android App, but you have to "direct connect" to the inverter wifi dongle. Again, not remote but easier than dealing with the MR front panel.
Unfortunately, I don't know enough about VMs or how HA works so I can't upload the yaml (I don't know how to access the file system, lol), but I copy/pasted into a text file. I do all my editing of the yaml thru the HA file editor directly.
There was a bug in one version of the firmware that even when set to parallel, they still only maxed at 8k. I'm running the very first parallel firmware version that has other bugs, but has been rock solid for over a year. One day I plan to upgrade to the latest version.
It is my understanding that they should be on the main L1/L2 coming from the meter INTO your main panel. This tells the inverter everything that your house is using. The inverter will then try to "backfeed" your main panel to supplement the load so it pulls near zero from the grid.
Example...
My manuals mainly show that L2 Left, L1 Right... However, not all, lol. Here are 4 different versions:
L2/L1
L2/L1
L2/L2
L1/L2
On this parallel guide, I actually have master at "can2" and slave at "can1"
I have 2 of them and would personally buy another. There are grid-tie issues that others are facing, but I'm hopeful that these will one day get resolved. I bought my 2 units for parallel use before parallel firmware was released, but was promised. MR did deliver on the parallel firmware, and...
I'm not sure of your system topology. I think you have a grid panel to run part of your home that the MR would supplement by monitoring CTs to prevent sending extra to utility. Then you have a CLP that the MR feeds from LOAD1. With main grid panel breaker flipped off, the MR is NOT enabling...
I purchased from GSL, but it seems all vendors are hit or miss. You might be better off with signature solar, but I would just go for price, tbh. I have 2 of these units in parallel running fully off grid in split phase, similar to what you are proposing. I also have 13kW of PV, and ~44kWh of...
I don't have grid connection. Its my guess that the "GRID POWER" value is what % you are suggesting the inverter supply from battery to try to offset the GRID load. Since you set it to 0, the battery SOC does not decrease in your second chart (0% battery to help offset grid load). In the...
