I retired in 2021 and moved to the Philippines. Last fall I decided to have a solar power system installed. I knew very little about solar at the time so I gave myself an education. I decided what I wanted and requested quotes from 4 different installers. Labor is one of the cheapest things here...

Yup, that's mine. First complete recharge in 3 days. 2 hours for the recharge from 30% on 30 kWh's of battery.

Isn't it amazing how much you notice clouds in the sky now?
  • Post in thread: Unboxing of Deye 16K Hybrid Inverter

I worked in the power industry for over 30 years. The last 25 was at the premier ATS manufacturer in the world, 30 Amp to 4000 Amp switches. I've seen plenty of jobsites with 3 pole transfer switches being used to switch 240 volt single phase loads, including the neutral. Every one had a local...

I bought 2 Felicity LPBF48300 batteries on 8/20/22, total of $5,678.88 including shipping and Alibaba service fees.

I sold all of my large 120 volt stuff before I moved here.

And I thought all of the magic was in the smoke. Of course BMS could really stand for bundle of magical stuff.

I power my entire house with my single Deye 16 kW. Been online for 3 months. My monthly billing was 1100 kWh.
  • Post in thread: Unboxing of Deye 16K Hybrid Inverter

Yes. I verified it several times.

Got my 16kw Deye today. Yeah. Hoping my ground mount will get here. Ships are probably delayed with the typhoons.
  • Post in thread: Best solar hybrid off grid inverter

Works just like paralleling with gens on the grid. Control the phase angle for power (for gens control the fuel flow) and the output voltage for reactive power control. For both just a little goes a long way. I've never worked on a UPS system that parallel with the grid. I've done a few decades...
  • Post in thread: Unboxing of Deye 16K Hybrid Inverter

I have my ToU set so the battery is available 24 hours. I do not have grid or gen charge checked on the ToU. If PV is not enough it draws from the battery. Battery is recharged via PV. I do not sell to the grid. All of my load is on the load port, none on the grid side. I stay grid tied for the...

That was the old Deye web software, it's not available anymore. I also played with the settings and zoom to get good images of what I wanted.

I bought it through an installer, 178k delivered. Basic ground mount. My house is in the corner of the estate so my fence is next to the estate perimeter fence in the back and one side of the house. The array will be installed on the side. The low side is 2 meters above the ground. This height...

I got the quote back on the B2B ATS. Less than I expected.

    I like it.

$1,982 each but then they kill you with shipping, $1,550, total $5,514. And not being able to get a freight forwarder I had to pay. I was planning on 1 600 kWH server rack setup from CMX, they make the EG4's and the other look alikes. I had that prices at $6,945, lots cheaper than Signature...
  • Post in thread: Unboxing of Deye 16K Hybrid Inverter

I spent about 20 - 30 minutes uncrating each of mine. It was funny when they delivered mine they were laying in the back of a van. 2 guys said it took 10 guys to get them in, I assume 5 for each battery? So they asked me how many people I had to help. I said the 3 of us are enough. So we slid...

It's the old issue of the programmers/engineers sitting behind a desk and their only "real world" experience is in a lab.
  • Post in thread: Deye: ATS or no need?

I don't have any problem with rewiring an ATS. I retired from ASCO last year, worked on many an ATS in my years, 30 amps up to 4000 amps.
  • Post in thread: Unboxing of Deye 16K Hybrid Inverter

I bought them direct via Alibaba. I didn't know they were available in the PI at the time. But the price was about the same.

I remember when ABB was just AB. So I guess you can use that signal as a start or an island.....if you need both? LOL

Good job! Now it will be....let me check the app......15 minutes later....let me check the app......etc...... I've heard it can be addictive.

Images of my load oscillation before and after I received an upgrade from Deye in mid December. Huge improvement.
