*solved
Using solar assistant I was able to set some battery parameters using the emulated BMS due to the MPP connected BMS is apparently wildly off.
"Voltronic inverters (Axpert, MPP Solar, Mecer, Kodak, etc.) that don't have a BMS communication cable will have a very inaccurate battery...
This is my first foray into solar and I figured I'd try this all in one system. Seems to be working pretty well, a little rough around the corners on a few things.
Now that it is here I want to run the whole house on it! But first 4 more panels and hopefully another battery.
Thanks for the help!
this is purely supplemental heat. I have a propane fireplace downstairs that runs 24x7 and a electric forced air not on solar I try to run a little as possible.
That is quite a bit larger!
I am hoping to double or triple my panels and double my battery asap. Unfortunately Time of day charges are not available for me right now. When I break 600kwh it goes up in price. So I am trying to leverage as much solar as I can, while maintaining battery for...
its a software that reads the modbus messages from the inverter and displays in a great web ui. it also allows you to change settings etc. I found out about it on this forum.
https://solar-assistant.io/
I am very happy with it, I have it integrated into my home assistant also, which is very...
My inverter has received and firmware update and it is about 10db louder that is was previous, apparently this is just the way it is now. Has anyone built an acoustic enclosure that deadens the hum of the fans but allows proper cooling and flame resistance?
I was thinking of doing some type of...

I am sending all the data to mqtt and then picking up in home assistant and saving to MySQL which has grafana on top of it
Hi I am having issues with connectivity to my LVX6048WP to my raspberry pi over USB to the Inverter.
I have been using this https://github.com/ned-kelly/docker-voltronic-homeassistant on the pi and everything seems to be ok but I am getting errors when connecting via usb

Hi I have been doing updated to my lvx6048wp for the last few days, I did not get that code but I did get 32 code and had to roll back
you need a serial adapter to connect to the port to upload the software,
i used one of these then a serial to usb back...
My battery was not charging correctly when I had no connection to the BMS, once I had that connected to solarassistant it was great. I don't think the MPP reads the Jackiper BMS properly.
Fridge, freezers, pump, my office, dishwasher by chance on the same circuit as my propane stove. The mpp can run it all. I have 4x450 panels, pv can get me ~2kw peak right now. My load at absolute peak is 4.5kw. I am going to add 8 more panels down the road and hopefully another 5kw storage
yes one was a 240 the inverter was not. I just heard back from MPP they are saying the pic I sent was showing input but when I killed the grid circuit everything went off. I will update when I hear more from MPP
I had my first snow overnight and this morning I woke up to a Fault code.
Fault code 13
PV ISO fault
The resistance between PV and ground is too low
Is this due to conductivity of the snow sitting on the panels ? I have never seen this error before today. I am not sure what else could have...
I ended up going with solar assistant and it is working ok, There are a few settings from solar-assistant that are not working withe the LVX6048WP but I have contacted them and they are updating for the new firmware.
Solar-assitant was able to read all my inverters stats on first connection
I am looking for the most efficient electric heat I can leverage my system for.
Right now, this is running critical load, ie fridge, freezers, pump etc.
I would like to have an electric heater kick on in the morning (before the sun comes up) to warm the general areas of my house.
We already...
I have moved away from Solar assistant, it seems it has not been updated for our inverter.
yes I have seen this too, The problem I think is that the software is incorrect and setting the "Battery Cut Off discharging when Grid is unavailable", is actually setting the "Battery Cut Off discharging...
I had that set, yet I was still seeing the utility feeding the battery on the inverter screen. With the other settings I set for battery parmeters I think I am good, I will watch it over the next 24 hrs
This is for the WP version. I don't think there is a grid injection to disable. Mpp advised me that I can run the generator and grid input at the same time as long as I had "generator input" and "wide AC"
The generator is an 8 k peak non inverter and the inverter one is a 4 k peak and my load...
Interesting I had not thought of it that way. I tend to overcomplicate everything lol
I just picked one of those up and am experimenting with it now.
How big is your system ?
As the title states, I am trying to keep the battery for backup purposes and only use solar and grid for now, I have 4x450 panels, the LVX6048WP and a Jakiper 100ah battery that is running a "critical service panel"
I have been playing with settings and it seems I can not get the battery to...

Is there a support forum of any type for Solar Assistant? It is working 99% but it seems to be allowing my battery to drop more than I have set it too, then by evening my battery is down and the grid has to charge it. Not and ideal solution.
I see there is an email address and a facebook page...
I just tried 2 generators with my lvx6048wp and neither would register as inputting power. Has anyone actually got a generator working as an input for one of these ?
I just put in a MPP LVX6048WP and a jakiper 48v 100AH "server battery" initial install was done by and electrician in my area. It runs a "critical services panel" the electrician was interested in doing the all in one set up and i figured the price was right.
it has taken some tweaking and the...
I am not sure what has happened but it seems to be working now, my battery never got below 80% before dusk and not under 9 after sundown. I still need to tune the final settings but so far it is working! we will see how the next few days go. lots of sun luckily.
Is there a way in solar...
