I think I worded that wrong, sorry.
Pos of panel shorts to frame, frame is grounded, ground wire takes voltage to the main AC panel, NO breaker (that I have anyway) will trip.
Current will be flowing along frame, other frames, grounding conductor, main panel case, and finally, main panel...
I guess I need to redo mine since I used 12 awg bare.
So I am not using regular solar rails. They are bolted to unistrut. So that means I need to ground each panel?
What is an easy way to remove insulation on 2 inches in the middle of a wire??
You will love it.
Of course it's only as good as it's connection to your network and the connection to the 6000xp.
I have mine in the basement and my router is upstairs. It mostly works, but there have been some dropouts.
The awesome thing about this setup is that is not cloud stored.
The...
Hello! Hope you are enjoying the 6000xp. I certainly am!
EPS stands for emergency power supply...that translates to power taken from the battery.
"Consumption" is only when using GRID.
You will notice that your load is either on EPS or Consumption. Corresponding to Battery and Grid...
Do you have any loads on it?
If your battery is misconfigured in the 6000xp and you have no loads, this would make sense.
I am going to assume that you are measuring the PV inputs wrong. Not sure how but this doesnt make sense.
Please provide pictures on how you have everything connected and...
The problem is who gets to decide when a new roof Is needed.
The possibilities for abuse are increased.
Insurance companies love little legal loopholes. Try and give it to you sans lube
dependent on location!
if I did 10 and it was a sunny december day and my batts were charged with no load, Poof! there it goes.
And I am pretty sure OP is asking for a minimum. Not a max
Yup, I know.
And it doesnt seem thoughtful or fruitful. If in fact now in a fault, the entire frame is carrying potential with no breaker. What if the other conductor finds a way to a frame? LOTS of arcs and fire.
Yes, more or less not worth it and dangerous to use even if everything looks ok.
These are 2 good options. If this battery is alone, with no other batteries in parallel, you could buy the JK BMS and wire it up yourself. This might not be too easy. You would need to either find the balance...
Inverters should never share panels. I would do just as you said. Group panels that are most directionaly the same and utilize however many mppt inputs you need to. All the mppts are on the same battery bank? Then it wouldn't matter. If you are within voltage and amp limits you could put...
What is this "can project" Is this with the "Off Grid Garages" Pie Hats or whatever it was?
I am simply interested in automation. I am using the lead acid profile on the 6000xp and as such, with me using 15S batteries, it is completely useless to use automation because the SOC in the 6000xp...
Thank you very much for the detailed reply!
I understand now that the working modes are automatic and dependent on what is connected? Is that right?
As I type this, I have been stuck in bypass mode for 22 hours. It was a cloudy day so no big deal but I would like to know how to get out of...
You do realize you are saying the 12kpv at 8000 watts is justified in its price compared to 2) 6kXPs? that are good for 12000 watts? Thats 50% more power for less money.
Are you hitting your charge current limit? Are you exceeding 125 amps on either inverter to the battery?
Battery temp at 125 might be an issue for throttling.
Remember, it will not stay at 14.4. If you charged it to 14.4 and left it alone for 3 hours it would probably look more like 13.6. That is called the surface charge.
I had one of the EG4 guys fix mine last Nov. And now its back to 1 hour off.
I dont care anymore because I use solar assistant which has the correct time.
Understood, but now we are talking about power. As in whats next? Variable rate grocery shopping depending on income? Im surprised California hasnt done that too.
That is the word on the street. Seems like people have been saying that for a decade or more.
It's only about peaks tho. How often did that really matter?
A 3000 watt
Lf could start a 3000 watt ac unit. It can handle the surge.
A 3000 watt Hf could never.
That's the benefit.
I believe...
I would guess that the 9999 number means you hit overvoltage on a cell over 10,000 times! :)
I dont know if the 9999 has anything to do withe the fault.
Thermal expansion would be my guess.
Tho, I don't know if I've seen that before.
The finger nail test certainly rules out a crack or scratch on the front in my opinion.
Why?
All metal should be grounded yes? Dc PV lines will short to the box and not trip any breakers. Why is that optimal? How is that any different than a direct short on pv lines?
