New to solar ( boy am I ) and new to this forum. Looking forward to learning.
  • Post in thread: SCC Diagrams

Most Diagrams I see do not have a Smart Battery Protect. ( some that do even have a note "do not use" ) . They just always seem to have the SCC battery leads going straight to the battery. Not a buss bar.

Thanks. Next time I have a chance to completely charge it ( 0 Amps in ) , I'll reset it. ?

There's water for sale about 12 miles away. I have a 110 gallon tank on my truck. My shower is a propane tankless heater fed by a 50 gpm 12v pump. 12v battery with a 100w panel. I love my place , but it gets HOT in the summer. Going in October to insulate it.

I have a 12v 300AH Lithium battery on my RV. I'm charging it with ( 2 ) 200W mono panels thru a Bourge RV 30 amp scc. After my battery had been charging on shore power for 48 hrs , my cc showed the battery at 14.1 volts. I set my battery monitor at 100% at that point. NOW , out on the road , my...
  • Post in thread: Quick Circuit Breaker Question

I have ( 4 ) 12v FLA Deep Cycle RV batteries to start. Those are just what I have "on hand". Plan to go lithium at a later date. I've installed ( 3 ) 355w panels in series. I plan to use the SolarOne 60 Amp MPPT 150vdc Controller and the aeliussine 2000w 24v Inverter ( I like the front hard wire...

Wow. That's a little steep for me. I'll look at the class Ts.
  • Post in thread: SCC Diagrams

I have noticed every 24V System Diagram I've seen shows the SCC Battery wires going straight to the battery. IF the battery leads go to buss bars ( then to inverter ) , couldn't you just tie the SCC Battery wires in there?

    This is the one.
  • Post in thread: Is exceeding the maximum PV input voltage by a little bit okay?

I've had a similar question. I have a PV Input of 142.35v. I'm looking at a SCC with a 150v Max input. It rarely gets below 30°F where I am , but is that too close? Would it be "less stressful" on a 175 or 200v max input controller?

It sounds like we are on about the same level of experience with solar. I am faced with a similar delima. Ive decided I will probably go 24 volt.

    That's too cool. Thanks
  • Post in thread: MPPT controller, BMS and inverter recommendations

If you read my posts in general discussion ( I've only been a member for a couple days ) I think our set-up needs are "similar ". I'm learning and on a budget as well. I plan to use a 24v to 12v step down for my 12v needs.
  • Post in thread: Is exceeding the maximum PV input voltage by a little bit okay?

I want to start with ( 4 ) 100AH Deep Cycle FLAs I already have. I have not purchased a SCC yet , am thinking about the EPEVER 8420AN. It has a max pv input of 200vdc.

What are thoughts on using branch connectors and running 2 smaller SCCs?
  • Post in thread: Newbie Here

Where I'm located , believe it or not , it cools down pretty quick after sunset and the humidity is really low. I'm thinking the a/c would be turned off at this time. Draw on the bank would just be a TV , led light and a small 12v fan. I would say it's sunny 300 days a year. There is a fella in...

No , it's a shed. Trying to cool it in summer.
  • Post in thread: Renogy BSC3048 vs WN P30L

I will look at that. My paperwork is in my RV about 30 miles from here. Just thought there might be a universal setting for Lithium 12v.
  • Post in thread: Newbie Here

The a/c I'm looking at is 600 watt ( not sure of surge. 1000? ). My panels are 355w x3 for roughly 1000watts ( see attached spec sheet ) wired in series. So this would require a min. 60 amp SCC for a 24 v system? I'm thinking 60 amp / 150v mppt SCC , 2000w pure sine wave inverter and a 24 - 12...

    Thank you.

For this 12v 300ah Lithium battery , what would be the recommended voltage shut off be programed to? 14v ?

I have My panels were $100 ea. ( Insurance resale ) and tested. They are already installed on my small shed. I don't have a 4th or room for one on the roof.
  • Post in thread: Newbie Here

    I'm working on that. I have a shed in the desert ( southwest Texas ). It's only 8' X 12'. I picked up ( 3 ) 355W Poly Panels that will fit on the roof. They were $100 ea. and I couldn't resist. I'd just like to run a small a/c ( possibly 8 hrs ) and a small TV at night ( 4 - 6 hrs ). I haven't...

Quick question : If I wired Four 12V , 100AH batteries in series and parallel to make a 24V battery , how many Amp Hours would I have?

I am definitely going to need a significant battery bank.
