That I agree I wouldn't find any benefit to saving the data except purely to size my system(accurate peak current) I average 16gb of data per year currently monitoring energy for certain devices/circuits and environment (temps, humidity, pressure, pm levels, lux and rainfall) none of which have...
The CALB 200 second edition are still widely available here online so I'm wondering if they aren't being produced why so many? There's alot of available cells to choose from il be sure to do a ton of research and post here to get everyone input before buying.
Above all sounds correct as I had exactly the same situation. I built multiple systems a good few years back with the 10a epever variants for my irrigation systems using old solar light panels I had piles off, nothing seemed to work correctly at 2 panels in series (18v) untill I added a 3rd...
Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but I've currently been looking into the byd blade Lifepo4 cells these seem to be used in many of the more recent byd EV's the design is very different to other prismatic cells on the market(see below)
Their aluminium case but I have yet found any examples...
My experience isn't with regular batteries mainly it's from the larger 12v Milwaukee tool batteries are two parallel strings of 3s, they do self Balance after a fairly long time but they won't charge as the majority of the BMS isn't actually in the battery but the tool/charger so they way I...
Dielectric is literally a hot mess when heated.
Suggesting a non conductive grease as an alternative to conductive grease wasn't really what I was expecting.
Cheers anyhow
Wether OP is a Materials Science Engineer or Prompt Engineer I'm not that bothered good questions are being asked and answered. If everyone could word prompts correctly no one would be asking questions.
@battery_professional I noticed a discussion here on the forums about cell orientation some...
Multimeter set to AC volts, red lead to socket live terminal, black lead to bare metal on the beam.
But first I would test the voltage at the socket, (black lead to socket neutral terminal) 220v should be the standard but standards and asian standards differ greatly take a note of the voltage at...
I'm unsure with this particular growwatt and solar assistant but from my own experience via home assistant, I upload an esp32 with the modbus data and any variables, that then translates the modbus to mqtt(not in my case it's transferred directly to my ha API though I can do it via mqtt) the...
I tried this once (was actually by mistake) the max 3232 lasted a day before it cooked no magic smoke sadly.
Edit the ground was connected to the TTL side and not the recommended standard side.
Second hand panels are hit and miss bargain wise here.
Either the sellers have no idea and think they can charge as new price or you get them really cheap, our neighbour/cousin saw mine go up then managed to get 10x 250w panes at $0.05 a watt but all he does is throw them on his roof pointing...
That's what jumped in my head when the idea first came to me.
That's a point I'm wondering about wouldn't the oil prevent oxidation making it maintenance free
Sadly I'm not DIY'ing the inverter otherwise I could have thrown that in the bath also.
Don't forget Google is banned in china it takes time to print off an email send it to a translator get it back come up with an answer send that back to a translator then receive it and type it out one painful English word at a time.
I thought California had so many Tesla's that the grid there had to be backed up by coal that was the news not so long ago not sure if it's still the case.
Sadly no, I haven't kept that up to date on switchgear but nothing I found RCBO wise protects against DC current in afraid maybe someone else knows of a product but as I said earlier the UK has poorly been left behind compared to the EU when it comes to advancements in electrical systems. We...
P2P would require a static IP or some DDNS service which brings it's own security issues I understand I rely on zerotiers endpoint but its end to end encrypted so if zerotier cant access my data I'm unsure how others can.
Ali price is vastly more so I think I'll go with the smaller coil I can source here for the test at least then if everything goes well I can order the larger lengths and diameter from ali.
You can probably buy cheap chinese battery heads for rigid(see below photo then likely you would have to go 48v system and use banks of 3 batteries in series that would be close to float voltage of a 48v Lifepo4 battery at 54v but that's where my knowledge ends.
I mainly use them for my projects because of the Bluetooth every project I add to the house allows me to map a little better so it's easier to track my car keys when I miss place them
No arguments here though the risks with rs485/UART seem fairly low if you stick to 3.3v I've had wires crossed a few times and nothing has blown so far.
Please read my statement when the GFCI doesn't trip with DC current (type A which is only a recent change to British regulations that specifies type B) or there is no GFCI,RCD,RCBO or ELB the earth is the primary protection hence why they are so focused on earth being below 5ohms.
British regs...
It is kinda only for liability and insurance purposes otherwise why notify them at all, the electricity board will likely not care and just presume it's all got certification.
Though I'm surprised that your claiming part-p is such a big deal now, back 10 years ago every kitchen/bathroom fitter...
Molex, Phoenix Contact , Betterie, TE connectivity and I'm sure many more are all EU/US manufacturers of MC4 connectors.
Enough with your Dunning Kruger effected brain try do some actual research instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.
I don't think I'll be pushing the batteries but ambient temps are already pushing the limits and we haven't even hit summer yet here.
Below is my garage temps so far this year this is a shaded thermometer 2ft below a tin roof.
No your likely getting reasonable quality gear in the west, here in Asia they sell really poor quality as it doesn't have to pass many standards.
These meters are literally $2 and can probably kill doing a current test.
Maybe something like this it's designed for EV but would cover your ratings

10ft doesnt really apply here you could go 20ft and still not get a great earth.
The reason i said the buildings frame is normally ok is because it will have multiple lengths of rebar driven into the soil 4 per pillar at least 4 pillars so thats technically 16 ground rods at 1m depths...
These are the CALB cells widely available here
Though the advertised cycles kinda worry me. I'd likely go for the 280ah which are almost a 50% increase to the price but advertise 9000 cycles
That's not a bad idea Tnx I'm still really undecided on placement yet but I'm ;okely just going to fab a ground mount for now and try them at various points on the farm till I come up with a permanent solution from my rough guesstimate I'll have two 4.5m² strings that could technically be used...
It would likely have to be a bug in the firmware rather than false readings from the CT, as I said before as far as I'm aware CT interference tends to be big sporadic spikes or that's what I've seen on the 20 or so I have fitted around my farm.
