Feeling cute today, may build a 480V battery later. .

Less material, less cost, less weight seems especially practical in EVs.

I guess it would depend on where you are. Most rural areas are typically on well and we adjust the pressure switch to get the "right" water pressure. AMPster is also right as far as dynamic and static pressures but in the end the safe operating PSI is what everyone typically looks at. Not an...

I know that it's a lot easier and cheaper to run panels in series. No combiner boxes, cheaper wire, less material. Same would go for batteries so your right about that. As far as higher voltage vs higher amps the analogy that comes to mind is a water pipe. You can run a bigger pipe (amperage)...

They were all between 12.5 to 12.7v, with one exception at 12.3. I have put a 12v charger on then and they all are charging and holding the charge for at least a few days so far. My goal is to test the inverters to make sure they will actually charge and discharge the batteries reliably...

This is completely a result of happen-stance more than anything and I really hope that curiosity DOES NOT kill the cat in this story. As part of my job duties I was tasked with disposing of brand-newish UPS modules that were ordered, forgotten, and then re-discovered only to find out that the...

    Net Negative Grid Interactive System

I would suggest putting all of this in a spreadsheet and calculate your ROI so you know exactly how much you will save AND, I think more importantly, how long it will take to get the money back. With your low consumption it may take over ten or 15 years to just recoup the initial cost and add it...

Is a separate EGC required for PV rails connected with EMT?

Two string will be on separate roof planes but very close together so I am looking to connect, and bond, the racking with EMT. I think that NEC allows this as the EMT acts as GC, except for rooftop AC systems but: 1. Are there any other exceptions as to where code requies a dedicated EGC...

    13kw complete grid-tie for under $8k

I picked up two Delta H6 inverters for $400 ea. I looked at Growatt and that was def a close contender and I may switch if I ever feel a need to use batteries but with the price spikes for precious metals I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Here is my layout:

    Tampa…Lennar New Construction questions.

They have been around for a while so that's always a good sign in the construction industry. It's always a good idea to walk through some of their older 10+ years subdivision and see how they hold up.

    Sell/buy without being ripped off?

I think verifying someones identity before they can post in the for-sale section will deter much of the blatant fraud. People scamming online count on anonymity shielding them from consequences.

Same here, I have the load and uplift calc in the plans BUT did not get a PE stamp and hope the inspector will let it pass. Worst case is I have to shell out another $300 for another stamp...
