One down, one to go. EG4 brightmounts... Impressed with how nice it is for the money. And forgiving enough for my crappy skills with holes in the ground and wood.
Don't mind the sick toddler tablet watching shanty town to the right. Multitasking dadding at it's finest.
Picked up 8 new...
Not to be a dick, but the billion dollar Apple company has had like 3 updates on their flagship phone already.
This is how technology works now. Either quit or figure how to ride it out for a bit.
SS seems to be going above and beyond right now. I'm impressed, even while I'm waiting for my...
I don't understand this at all.
We emit the most co2 per capita....of the whole entire planet.
You are arguing that the #1 per capita country should just keep taking shits in their own front yard because their neighbors are also shitting in their front yards?
We need to set an example. We...
I'll get us back on track... Speaking of tracks, the trencher I rented slipped one and this took 5 freaking hours. About 45 minutes digging, the rest repairing.
The concrete guys also spilled a 10ft wide and 8 inch deep pile of concrete I had to sledgehammer through.
Nightmare day in the yard
I think it's alive! My BMS limit charge rate went from 100A to 200A like it should! The second battery exists!
SOLUTION POSSIBILITIES: (because my scientific method sucks and I made two changes at once instead of one change at a time)
1) I switched the RS485 protocol to a completely...
That is exactly what I did...except I was lucky in that I had a 200A service disconnect right by my meter, so I didn't have to cut POCO power to hook things up.
Every time I look at this picture I regret not putting in the work/$ for a gutter. Learn from my functional yet hideous...
Well, getting this into the basement was more difficult than expected (the battery is freaking insanely heavy), and my conduit box was murdered in transit, but my 18kpv and battery survived the trip. I've successfully booted and have battery coms up and running.
RIP my friend.
I'll report in...
Yea, and you are here posting fossil fuel propaganda verbatim because they are angry that they aren't the industries getting funds diverted to them after enjoying subsidies for years.
Pot meet kettle.
Ordered! Thanks!
Firmware update complete as well getting the app up and running! Powering down myself and the inverter for the night.
Thanks everyone.
Homework for tomorrow is figuring out if I need a LCD firmware update. I might just be delirious at this point.
Then back to trenching...
I've hung from this wall (180 pounds) and purposefully tried to rip it down...it's strong. I'm sure it could hold the battery but I also like the thought of it living on a dolly I can move by myself if needed.
This is in an unused back corner of an unfinished basement. No traffic in the area.
I haven't read the whole thread, but the OP didn't even meet your "lax" requirements.
He didn't have adequate mounts for the wind...he had fucking 40 pound projectiles laying on his roof.
I'm not exactly permitted, but I kept as close to code as possible. Especially for my mounts/panels...
Thanks for the video...glad to see someone else struggle with this a bit!
I have repeated the way I did it in the screenshots above and it has worked each time. Seems a bit easier!
On the side of the inverter you can throw that switch to cut PV power TO THE INVERTER. But the wires are still hot if you need to handle them.
You need a disconnect or to do what Gavin describes (or become a vampire and only work when the sun is down).
I wanted to argue with you on this... But the more I thought about it the more I think you are right.
Well I can stop hoarding beer cans now. Kinda sad as my alcoholism can't be useful anymore
Just ran some errands and decided to take a picture of the PHEV use. 900+ miles driven and still have over 3/4 a tank of gas. 35 hours in this car driving without a gas stop...and I still have 3/4 of a tank.
Pretty nuts.
They should have pushed for these instead of pure EVs, worked on the...
The "how do I keep my batteries at a minimum of 50%" setting is under DISCHARGE SETTINGS, ON-GRID CUT-OFF SOC.
I have mine set at 50% so I always have something in the tank in case of an outage.
I fight with humidity enough I don't want a raised bed living down here full time.
That's just a repurposed alcohol bottle with water in it and a Neem oil bottle. I brought in some pests when I moved the orange tree in for winter.
The Volvo is awesome but expensive and they took away the tax...
For those of you with connectivity issues, what phone are you running? I ran into some weird issues with another device (smart EV charger) and I ended up using an old phone I had laying around and it connected fine. Some weird wi-fi compatibility with my current phone.
Might be worth a try.
I'll actually take the bait though.
Yes solar panels. Around 11kw.
28 USA made, 8 Canadian.
Eg4 18kpv and their batteries because I'm not made of money and that combo checked a lot of boxes.
We have two PHEVs because I didn't think EV infrastructure is there yet and may never be. Not because...
We built our house new in 2016. North Carolina so more heat problems than cold problems. Energy star rated, spray foam, all electric so we went with a heat-pump water heater...and it's "the tightest house I've ever built" according to the builder. We got a great rating on the Energy Star...
Progress report...and would love eyes on what I have so far. Don't mind the battery cables and lack of conduit. Having a crushed conduit box and too short of cables has that on the backburner as I wait for parts.
Rants:
Holy crap I hate 3/0 copper so hard. I about died running it and...
Thanks guys.
They definitely need a "quick start" guide for this thing.
I just read the manual again and I didn't see anything on startup/shutdown procedure, no mention of a precharge resistor.
I have the same inverter, and I have settled on AC coupling it to an EG4 18kpv hybrid inverter.
The issue with the SE inverter is that you likely have optimizers, and you cannot use those optimizers with other inverters, so you cannot just replace the SE inverter with a hybrid inverter and hit...
Alright, I read this a few more times and now I've changed my plan. Let me know if it sounds crazy.
MORE INFO:
My house and panels are LOW. (Winter shading is terrible - thanks original scam artists that sold me my system and went bankrupt!!). No less than 50 trees at a higher elevation than...
This only happens if the grid is down (frequency shifts to cut the coupled inverter). For grid-up scenarios you get full sell-back. So there isn't much to lose here.
