Very very strange problem with Victron Multiplus 2, grid feed is high, power stays low

I have my MP2 GX set to around -3000w to feed back to the grid. The inverter just resists doing this. Its maximized to around 550w/10A. Why is this happening? Updated firmware already, DVCC on/off, no limiters on, BMS has no limiters on and no alarms or errors. Still it will not go over 10A discharging. There are no scripts running on the background controlling this, no temperature issues. In the past it always worked fine! When I make the number positive 3000W it does charge 3000W.

I swapped BMS with another one, same issue. So BMS is not the problem. Problem is inside MP2

Can anyone advise? My other two MP2's are running perfectly fine

Does the AC Input Current Limit in VE Config also limit current when feeding back to the grid? I've never messed with grid-feedback so I'm just spit-balling here.

Thats on 50A :)

Heh... sorry, I don't speak ESS.

This isn't even spitballing... series wild ass guess/speculation/ramblings of an insane mind...

What is the grid frequency? Does the MP behave like other GT inverters where it will throttle based on changes in grid frequency? Is the utility deliberately throttling you by altering grid frequency?

I know you said no limiters, but just checking that you have this disabled?

4.3.11. Limit inverter power

Limit the power drawn by the Multi: ie. limit the power being inverted from DC to AC.

Notes:

  • The losses in the inverter/charger are not taken into account. If you want to limit the amount of power being drawn from the battery, you will have to set this limit slightly lower to compensate for those losses.
  • Power coming from the MPPTs is not taken into account. Using this feature in a system with MPPTs can cause the output power from the MPPT to be reduced.
  • This limit is with respect to power drawn from the battery and will affect the total of all phases.
  • This limit only applies while connected to AC-in: In inverter mode, the AC loads determine how much power is drawn from the battery.

Yes, also tried with high limiter, not helping :(

Freq etc from grid is very steady and same for each MP, I have 3 in total and only one is giving issues

No one is altering the grid frequency, unless this is a small remote area with a “micro grid”.

Now the inverter could be riding the grid voltage high, but that’d indicate another issue.

Found it! I accidentally changed the maxdischargepercentage some time ago in the modbus settings to 10%. Its really nice Victron provides settings that can be changed but are not visible inside the GUI. Sarcasm off
