I want this to be an inexpensive project (relatively) but I can’t help trying to maximize abilities.

I have recently acquired 9 400w REC panels through an auction and thought it be a good idea to just make it into a simple solar carport to run as much as I could with it.

I had always planned on going full solar for the house but I’m mid remodel and now’s not the time to properly fit for too many panels.

So I ordered the eb4 Powerpro battery.

Additionally just hit purchase on the 6000xp, I’m so torn whether or not I should update the purchase to the 18k..

I’ve been watching Wills videos from the time he lived in his van and have made small 12v systems with his help. So I’m fairly versed in his videos!
His recent video really hasn’t helped my good products addiction.

Please advise what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

The 18kpv will allow you to support the whole house with pv and battery. The 6000xp will only support loads on a backup panel

Yep, I understand that. Truefully im probably a couple years away from really devoting myself to installing the 18k as an actual hybrid.

I will be connecting either to the grid as a back up to the panels though.

May also depend if you need UL9540 on the battery-inverter combo. Last I looked the PowerPro is UL9540 but only with the 18Kpv.

Yes yes yes - semantics
Actually misrepresentation.
Not using the full name, implies that it's something that it's not.
It's not an 18k AIO. But, it does have an 18kpv charger in it.
They gave it a click bait name, but it's technically correct. As long as you don't shorten it.

I have the 18kpv and it's been pretty bullet proof, but it has more functions than I'll ever use. Then there's the price, it ain't cheap.

I would start with your 6000xp, then plan to extend off that with a second unit if you can. If you have the extra money ($2000+) get the 18kpv.

Thanks everyone for the input.

I’ll play with this for a
Little bit, max it out and then see what’s available.
