Dumb newbie question here I did search for an hour for a fix but no go so far.

Trying to pair a DiySolar bms bluetooth module to my Samsung S7 phone already downloaded the correct Android app (Xioxing 3.1.1015 version) and double checked the wiring was right. When trying to connect it doesn't see the dongle but when I go to refresh the "Bluetooth" button on the phone it sees it and the blue light on the dongle flashes then goes out.
Then phone says "pairing not accepted by the BMS.
The only thing I read somewhere was that the app or version may not be compatible with the older phone? Any help appreciated.

ask the fella you bought it from.email him.he responds fast.i bought 2 of those from him last week, have not used yet.i will be using an s5.let me know how it works out please.

Weird I tried 3 devices and 2 different versions of the BT module and no workie. Oddly the device detects my phone as I move around the room the signal strength changes on the app but the app will not pair and the blue led on the module won't stay on.
I also don't like how it has to have the phones "Location" enabled seems kinda big Chinese brother watching?.

Prior to Android 8, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) actually required location access. The App is made to be compatible with previous versions of Android so that permission has to be enabled. https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/bluetooth-le

Were you prompted to enter the app password?

did you tap on the device in the white screen?when in start up.

When I open the app it says "device can be connected" and "connectable" and the little refresh icon spins for 10 seconds but then nothing happens or appears on the screen.
I hit refresh or fix but still nothing.

No I was never asked for a password does have not seen that screen yet

It works!!! nwillits I didn't know that the first time you use the app you have to actually have to tap on the icon instead of the refresh button. Now it pairs automatically when I open the app.
Thanks for the help really appreciate it.

I had mine working switched the location off and it stopped working.. Flipped location back on and it worked....
