I have done some really basic automatic 'load shedding' but not diversion loads yet. Still, being a simple man and no electronics guru i would just be using a $25 'voltage monitoring relay' which is basically just a voltage window switch with an adjustable delay timer to avoid short cycling.

It's been said more or less already, but i think when using the very high end of the voltage range on a 48v lifepo4 system, such as 55-56v, there is not AS much variance from actual SOC because that 1volt difference covers a fairly small range of SOC. Aka working off of voltage trigger points instead of SOC is 'not as bad as it sounds' when you are using the voltages at the extreme end of the range.
