RV 48V to power 12v Loads

That one was meant for continuous operation in line with PV input to reduce short circuit current if things went wrong with MPPT, not as precharge resistor. You need to use 10 ohm resistor for precharge. Explains big spark you got. It passed ~450A on contact. Better than nothing but still too large of inrush current. Good thing MPPT survived, I guess we now know it can handle 450A input current for a moment.

Victron go Hard I guess. I don't have a shop full of extra bits and bobs and do-dads ect, everything I have has to move down the interstate!
IDK, so far so good, we'll see how things turn out for a while with proper bus bars and 6awg wires. It's still probably safer than this stock AC/DC converter.
Unless some product comes out soon, or someone shows me something I dont know... I'll probably just bite the bullet when I have an address again and "do it right.":
Buy two victron 48v-12v/30amp converters in parallel, running into a victron 12-12/50amp charger, into the marine battery. Probably a little less efficient than this current setup, but at least it's "Approved" and safe long-term.

Would I have been better off using my lightbulb for precharge? This is what I use to precharge my Quattros and everything else on the 48v side:
