Ali Express Battery Recommendations

Hi all

I'm looking to buy a 12V 200-300Ah LiFePO4 battery on Ali Express but a bit overwhelmed by all the choices. I'm going to use in my VW T3 campervan

Could you recommend a reasonable brand?

I live in Dublin, Ireland and looking for EU sites with free shipping and short delivery times

Lots of folks. burned lots of times (Me included) buying from Ali Express, here is a UK supplier, although I have no experience either way of purchasing from them.

Fogstar are very good, had 2 sets of cells from them, neither needed top balancing after building other than the JK 2A active balancer doing its thing for a few hours. Shipping to Dublin may be an issue but you can ask.

Not sure about suppliers but look for the plastic hardshell batteries rather than the aluminium foil shell ones they see to be more ruff and ready especially for mobile applications.

Thanks for this. Since Brexit, customs fees, vat etc are high.

If you have a contact in NI who can purchase for you that you can visit to collect then these issues disappear except the 20% VAT but you would pay 23% VAT in Ireland anyway?

Your other option is Amazon who have an easy returns policy.

Thanks for this. Amazon don't send Lithium batteries to RoI but I could have sent to NI. I'll try this. I thinking I might also buy direct from Renogy. They're more pricey but good quality.

Or if you fancy a trip in the camper to Tipperary (it's a long way) there's Li-Gen batteries there no idea how good they are or if their pricing is competitive but it's an option.
