Overkill BMS and Handling Current Surges

I know this has been hashed out many times but I do my best to remember using this when reconnecting my inverter in case of a battery disconnect. Not automatic or built in but works very well✌
Two of these were $5. And they’re shiny. ?

I'm thinking of wiring that resistor across the BMS with a normally open push-button switch. So the turn-on procedure will look something like this:
  1. Hold down precharge push-button for 10ish seconds
  2. Turn on BMS output switch
  3. Release precharge button

I'm only slightly worried about running this across the BMS -- but I think the only real failure point is if the normally open button becomes a normally closed button. I'm not sure how terrible of an idea this is.

Should work. Use a light bulb for the resistor, then you can see when the caps are charged.
