Hello all. I just bought a van that will be used as my daily driver for work and play. I am looking for an all in one system solar power system that will stand up to the potholes and rough roads of daily travel, something that is built for harsh road environments so I can take it with me every day. I know I could build one that with oversized components to ensure no wires become subject to wire chafe from vibrations but that would make it less portable than a all in one compromise.
The normal work load would be charging battery operated tools, run my Kuerig coffee maker, laptop computer, and my small shop vac. Maybe a small microwave down the road.
I want the portability so I can easily remove it and carry into a work area, bring inside to charge, use camping for my cpap, or even help during a power failure. Is there any units that are made to "mil-spec" to be durable in this regard? The unit I seek would not see daily use and repeated charge/discharge cycles, or need particularly fast charging; it just needs to hold up to daily travels and hold the charge between uses. The Titan seems great, but its big $$$ and if the van gets stolen I would be very sad. The EFDelta seems good and is in a good price point. Are there any others that I should consider? Or am I better off just installing a regular inverter wired to my van electrical circuit and save an all in one system to take with me only when I am gonna camp?
Thanks for the input.
