Opinions sought

Just thinking about different cell pack configurations and wondered if the proposed connections in the sketch below would have the benefit i am thinking of???
For the cost of a few extra couplings on the battery pack cells, to me, it offers a degree of insurance/redundancy. What do others think?

Can't hurt! Redundancy is always good, especially when it's that cheap to do.

I think the bottom one would make it easier to increase amperage since you can parallel in as many cells as you cared to add, 4 cells at a time.

Extra conductor material/bridge between cells is never a bad thing,
I'd rather have conductors a little Over Sized than Under Sized any day!
