Can I use EV6 V2L as a generator input on IP6048 (repackaged LVX6048WP) ?

Hello there. I'm just getting my system set up with the IP6048 and I'm thinking about power outages in the future. The Inverter has a generator input, so I'm wondering if I can use my EV6 Vehicle to Load adaptor to charge my residential batteries if the power goes off.

I understand the adaptor only has a rating of 1.8 kw, so it would be a slow charge, but the battery is massive at 77 kwh so it would definitely help in a pinch.

Are there any chances of the inverter back feeding the car and causing issues?

There's also an option to charge the external backup battery directly from the KiaEV6 AC-port, just need a separate charger

This is exactly what I was hoping to find. We have a new SolarEdge system (24 panels, 16.0kWh battery backup) and an Kia EV6. It seems I should be able to use the Kia's battery to charge or extend the battery range in a long power outage. Our SolarEdge system apparently can accept power from a backup generator as long as it has an auto-transfer switch. I'm looking for a more off-the-shelf solution since I'm not ready to risk either our Kia or the solar system if I mess up.

I am guessing that the EV6 AC output is 120vac, the IP6048 probably needs a 240vac input.

Also, mppsolar has this warning at their website:

"Using Generator as AC-Input

  • Generator power is recommended to be 50% larger than the inverter rating to reduce chances of overload.
  • Inverter-generator is recommended due to its cleaner output than conventional generators. Unsuitable generator output may be rejected by the inverter.
  • When using generator as AC input – grid injection must be DISABLED.
