Will this work? I have a customer with a very large liquid cooled GENERAC, backing up (2) 200A main breaker panels via the 400A ATS. He wants to add solar and batteries due to numerous, brief power outages and to offset grid usage at night for a very large, all electric home.
So could we go Meter->Sol-Arks (with battery)->ATS? My thinking is the ATS will see the Sol-Arks as the grid. If there is a power outage, the batteries take over so the ATS still thinks it is grid. If the batteries die, ATS will see it as grid outage and then start the generator. I know this wouldn't let his batteries charge from the generator but that is not a big concern of his.
We have not had great success with putting generators on the GRID input in other installs so we do not want to do that here.
I have reached out to Sol-Ark and sent them a one line, and am awaiting a response, I am just curious what others have to say.
