Megarevo RxLNA Discussion

Mine are also connected with Canbus. I set the battery voltage values using the lead acid mode then switched back to lithium. I’m wondering if it’s one of the battery voltage settings, maybe it’s waiting for a 100% SOC by checking the input battery voltage vs using the bms readout?

From what I can tell, it looks like being grid connected with batteries will cause the battery SOC to stay fully charged at night until PV kicks in. Then it will discharge the batteries and charge until full again. This means for me, it powers the loads during the day using battery and PV and will end up with a 70% SOC at the end of the daytime in late fall. Which partly makes sense. The issue with it is that for me is with it holding the 100% SOC and staying grid connected throughout the night is that my wind turbine has no where to dump power. I wish the there was a way using the unit to get it to charge to 75% SOC or just charge and discharge throughout the night while being grid connected if needed there isn't enough wind/ solar or battery for the loads. The other caveat is that during the day if I have excess PV power I would still like to sell it back so being not grid connected will not work well for me.
I have tried reaching out to GSL and they were just unhelpful when I mentioned the reasoning to find a way to do this.
The other option I had was to use a micro controller with SSRs and a contactor to disconnect and reconnect the grid connection in the unit. Now it would probably work doing that but would have to work around the light flicker switching from grid to off grid mode causes.

Have you power cycled the unit after changing the settings?
With the same settings we should not have different behavior.
Power cycle is switching off PV, batteries & AC
Warning: your daily readings will be reset

Yes, I have been restarting it after the changes (which is a PITA when having the critical loads panel connected)

Have you considered contacting megarevo direct for support and tell them gsl is not cooperating?
Yes, I thought about that this morning. I was going to try that tomorrow if the geniuses here didn't have any ideas on a solution.

Like I predicted, because of rain yesterday my battery only got recharged to 45%, in the evening it got down to 20% and the grid took over

The grid did not charge my batteries back up
I did get a warning:

Totally different behavior from your setup

Sad news, it didn’t work. It charged and stayed at 100% throughout the night. When PV came on, it discharged and stayed discharged at 20% SOC even an hour after PV was gone. The only way it to start charging again was to change the battery to lead-acid, re-enter the battery settings then change back to Lithium. After a brief Dc-dc standby and some thing PFC on the status screen it went back to charging again

That is so totally different from my setup.
Because of heavy rain yesterday, my battery hit 20% just after 7PM and the house ran from the grid till next morning.
PV picked up, started providing the loads, then started charging my batteries again. When full, started exporting to the grid

Is that the kind of behavior you want to have as well?

I am confused why during the day your battery starts discharging.
How much PV do you have hooked up again?

7.75kwh but it’s been rainy here in Wisconsin.

I’ve exported a lot to the net metering over the summer but it’s only been a week or so since the batteries have been 100% online with critical loads panel. Normally the PV will cover the loads and give back 5-20kwh to the grid per day but that was summer and early fall.

This is my graph of yesterday when it was raining here:

At least whatever sun we had was able to take over the loads & do _some_ charging (up to 48% or so) and then the load took the batteries down to 20% again.

As soon as your MR sees solar it starts to generate power from the batteries and put it in the grid.
Only thing I can think of right now is your CT setup that is different from me.

For anyone interested in communicating with Modbus to the inverter. Here is a list of addresses, I have been using pysolarmanv5.
