Does the "Classic 400W Solar Package" eliminate charging from the onboard Generator

I want to switch to Lithium and the "Classic 400Watt System" description sounds like it makes good sense. But am I correct that I will no longer automatically charge when on shore power? And what about it charging when running my onboard 5500 watt generator?

I want to make the jump but I am concerned about unwanted surprises.

Appreciate any input.

You're correct, the basic "400w system" doesn't have anything in there connecting it to your generator or alternator. You'd have to get an AC battery charger involved separately to charge from generator or shore power. Fortunately being a 12v based system any decent battery charger with a GEL pre-set will work nicely for not much money and be super easy to wire in.

Question on this. If I wanted to convert the classic system to have the option for charging via shore power wouldn't that just require connecting the existing AC-DC converter charger in the RV to the system like it is with the current FLA, non solar system that was stock? Where would it connect in the wiring diagram on the classic 400Watt with alternator chart?

I do realize that the existing AC-DC converter charger may need to be replaced with a newer one that will work with LiPO batteries.
