Hi I have just received CATL 302ah Grade B cell from 18650batterystore and it looks like one of the cell is bended inward and one is slightly scratched.
Do you guys think it is safe to use? Thank you.

Doesn't look like there's any internal damage.
Should not affect performance.
Just a cosmetic issue. I wouldn't be concerned. As long as it tests the same as the others.

Thank you! I just temporarily connected my Muller Energy BMS with active balancer and getting this. Seems that cells are quite nicely balanced, but not sure why I am seeing 250ah, since the cells should be 302ah.

I would send 18650 the photos and ask them to replace both damaged batteries.

The 18650 web page "Terms of Service" says:

"If you receive an item that has been damaged during transit, please contact us immediately. Use the blue contact button in the lower right portion of this webpage to chat/email us. You will need to provide photos or video of the damage. Our customer service will work with you on an individual case basis to remedy the situation."

If you talk to 18650, please let us know what they say. We need to know.

I think you guys are asking a lot from something that is clearly being sold grade B. Expecting perfection on these types of items is unreasonable IMHO.

Here is what the 18650 web page says:

Grade B Cells - Original QR Code is scratched out

BRAND NEW CELLS - Capacity tested - sorted and matched.

Guaranteed to pull 302Ah+

1 Busbars and 2 nuts included per battery.

30 day warranty, moneyback guarantee.

I spoke with 18650 store yesterday, send email with pictures. Support got back to me in 2 hours stating the scratched cell is fine to use however the banded inward should not, They already sent replacement and it will be here tomorrow. Hoping the new one will be fine.

If you are OK with the scratched cell, I would make sure that the wound is repaired with some kind of insulation. I have read that the outer aluminum case carries positive voltage.
Could you please use your multi meter to confirm this?

It does. And needs to be insulated. If the metal case is exposed.

I just test it and you are correct it does carry positive voltage. Well the scratch is small not sure if I wanna talk to 18650 again about it. I will be using epoxy boards between the cells or I can get heat shrink wrap and install it over the cell. I will decide once I see the new cell tomorrow. Thank you!

The new cell arrived today, it is in perfect condition. Just the voltage is little higher at 3.286V hopefully my 5A active balancer will take car of it. Thank you for all your help.
