My build thread

48 Cells, in three sets of 16S
280Ah x 51.2 nominal = 14.3kWh
14.3 x three sets = 43kWh ESS VERY NICE.
Using the JK BMS for these???

Andy from Off-Grid-Garage has done a video on paralleling 2 batteries of wildly different SOC. Not much happened. It wasn't a spectacular light show like a lot of people make it out to seem.
That said, I do like the automated current limiter of the BMS in my server rack batteries which deal with such scenarios quite nicely. Just connect them no matter the SOC, they take care of it.

Yeah, I've done it several times. Because Andy did.
The first time was the only one that I was worried about. Now it's just fun to see how big of a surge I can get.
Once I get this small bank completed. I'll test 4 full against 1 empty. lol

That is actually a very nice score! Sure it was a good work out moving those to their designated location.

Now that the batteries are out of the way. I can rework the power room. And get rid of all the temporary testing setup.
Maybe I can post some pictures, this winter. lol

Very cool. Super clean battery banks.
Is cooling an issue in smaller spaces when under load? Not calling you out, asking for my own knowledge.
It's possible if you are pushing them hard.
It takes a heavy load to create any heat. I will never put that kind of load on my batteries.
