Which EG4 unit should I get?

I want to install another solar hybrid mini split, and I’m trying to decide between these two 12000 EG4 units. Is it worth it to pay the extra for the higher seer rating, or is that not the only difference?

I installed a Hotspot Energy branded solar unit about a year ago in my garage, and I noticed that these EG4 units are quite a bit cheaper than what I paid. Plus, they have quick connects now so I won’t have to evac the lines and worry about twisting the lines by over torquing them like I did in my first install. ?

Seems like folks are having good luck with these EG4 units? I will connect mine to the grid also, and I like the 115v AC specs on these 12k units because I think I can get the power off a wall socket that’s close to my install spot.

Both are great units, but the top one is extremely efficient and a heck of a value with that higher seer rating. If running the unit from Solar is important to you then the bottom unit should be your choice.

Hey thanks for the fast response!

Yes mostly from solar. This will augment my giant hvac system.

Another question: the line set is line 16’ I see, and my inside unit will mount very close to the compressor. With the quick connects I will not be able to shorten the line set. Is it ok to coil it behind the compressor? I’ve read that’s not a great idea, and it looks kind of funky.

I noticed there are more companies offering the 12,000 BTU solar hybrid mini splits now, are all these units the EG4 model coming from Signature Solar?
