Mains or battery or solar power to load?

I have an ongrid system including Solaredge panels and inverter with a retro fitted Solax battery and inverter.

How does the system decide if the house load is powered from public mains or the battery inverter or the solar panels' own inverter?
Do I have any control over this?
How can I measure the current from these three sources?

Do you have the manuals for your equipment? The primary controller should provide some info through its interface, and a “clamp meter”-style vom can read the amps(current) of various conductors.

Solax has a variety of systems that can do both On Grid, Off Grid or Hybrid (both).
For a better & more complete answer provide the information about your system.
Make & Model of your components Solar Controller to Inverter & Battery Packs.
If you have a diagram or even photos that can be quite helpful as well, so help us to help you.

The solar controller and inverter is Solar Edge 3680H

The 6kWh battery installed is Solax "Triple Power" HV10230 with BMS MC0600
The battery charger/Inverter is Solax X1-AC3.6

The battery that I have already and want to add to the system is Solax "Triple Power" T45 HV10040 with BMS MC0500

It is an on-grid system with a history of modest exports of excess power to the grid.
House heating was by gas. DHW heating from solar PV power.

I now have an air-source heat pump for central heating and DHW so wish to minimse the export of power and store excess for use into the ASHP to heat the house and DHW when no solar PV generation is possible.
