Hi,

I had 2 Growatt (SPF10.000) inverters report fault 4 this morning. SOC on the 2x200AH 48V batteries was >40% but the temperature was quite low. Around 6 degrees C ( 42F) so my guess is that the Battery BMS is going protective because of low temp but not sure. Has this happened to anybody before or does anybody know what the cut off point is for low-temp protection?

It does sound like the BMS is protecting your batteries as it should. You are going to have to provide some insulation or heating or both for them.
My room mates (I mean batteries) never get cold or hot. We are very happy in the same comfortable climate.

I understand the general principle but I was looking for more specific low-temperature cut-off point information (assuming this is somewhat generic for Lifepo batteries). The documentation on the batteries indicates a minimum temperature of -10C! 1699745385596.png

Usually 0c or 32f to stop charging.
Discharging is safe to lower temperatures.
