Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

Question. If a person posting on this forum has a pecuniary interest in promoting a particular product, should that fact be disclosed to the forum at large?? Or, is it already??

This is practical thinking. I do both, as fits the use case. ecoflow and bluetti have come up with some nice hardware, and good control apps. It's really hard to beat a tightly integrated and well functioning system used where it fits the bill. When you add up the warranty, 1 app control, good...

Yup and only a 1 year warranty. And no app that I can see.

Looks like a great deal, even though they are $299. But they are in Australia? I can't imagine what the shipping would be to the US. Can you get the 120 volt version from them?

Where is the MPP 2724 available as speced for $285?? Curious. Although it appears the pv voltage is limited to 50v? Wouldn't work with my portable array, at least not in series, anyways. I have a solar shed, this could be a good candidate for upgrading that. AIO's seem to be a good value.

I have a small travel trailer. I diy'ed a small system to power the basic needs for the camper - water pump, propane furnace, fans, etc. 2 100 watt panels on the roof, 200ah lifpo4 house battery, 1000 watt inverter, 20amp mppt charge controller. I have a small inverter generator for emergencies...

Well, we are just going to have to disagree here. I have done both, I have both. For smaller systems, portable power stations are actually cheaper now than DiY. Things have changed quite a bit in the last year, even. I encourage you to do a little research, you might be surprised. The OP stated...

The AC200L is already 48 volts internally. You can add additional batteries at will. The OP was looking for a small system. A quality power station is a simple and easy solution to the smaller needs the OP spoke of. OP: "I want to power a cargo trailer (6x12) so the demands won't be great...

I don't see anything on my list that is $800???? Look, I tried to be as conservative as possible with the estimated prices, just to avoid the niggling that you are doing right now. When the OP wrote about diy, he used an example of a 12v battery. A diy system is in any event, not even slightly...

The DIY numbers don't add up anymore, at least for a smaller, generic installation. I'll give an example. Bluetti AC200L - $1300 (I purchased one recently at that price) 2048 watt hour battery. 2400 watts continuous inverter 1200 watts max mppt controller PV input @ 145 volts max bluetooth +...

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

Maybe so, but you can most likely make up the small difference by simply buying a cheap power station (~$100) and 100 watt panel (~$60). Then you avoid the hassle of cobbling together an inverter, charge controller, battery, and ac charger and sourcing a box to mount it all in neatly. Any...

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

I dunno. Have you had a look on amazon lately? I don't see that much of a price difference between a dorm fridge and a small 12v compressor fridge. A little, but not that much.

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

Amen. Sometimes, the simplest possible solution is the right solution. a small ecoflow of bluetti + 100 watt panel is way easier to deal with than a battery + inverter + charge controller. And actually cheaper. And small DC compressor "cooler" style fridges have advanced lots in the last 5...

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

Thank you for the information. I have read several of your posts bemoaning the excessive power draw of absorption fridges. I was just curious about your experience with same. Sorry to be off topic.

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

Just curious, have you ever owned an absorption fridge? If so, have you measured the power draw in AC mode? Yes, they are power hogs running on ac, everybody knows that. I did measure mine yesterday, just for fun. 325 watts. However, I can get 2 weeks on a 20lb propane bottle, with no electric...

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

Maybe just buy an efficient 12v compressor cooler fridge? a tiny power station or battery and a 100 watt panel will run them almost forever. No need to complicate things. Simple problem. This is what one of mine consumes in 24 hours. Easy peasey.

I would think those victronRewards already existed , judging by the level of fan boyzs around here. My victron products are good, but they don't send a thrill up my leg or anything. :ROFLMAO:

Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

This constant and over-the-top schilling for a single company's overpriced products has become both annoying and even disturbing. Why would anyone trust advice from any source that only recommends products from a single company?. It makes one appear to be a dishonest crook. However good the...

Crazy things you do with excess power

Electric heating elements give you better temp control. Also, It's a bit safer indoors, than running an open flame. lol

How long can you (and your family) survive if the grid went down for an extended period?

If you can actually hit things, a .22LR headshot will do nicely on a deer. Wouldn't attract attention, either.

How long can you (and your family) survive if the grid went down for an extended period?

That is a common stereotype of firearms enthusiasts used by the leftist anti-gun crowd. Those that actually know anything about firearms don't read guns and ammo. You might see a copy of Handloader or Rifle. As far as the .243 Winchester, it's fine for deer and varmints, (with the right bullets)...

It actually was Will's latest video that inspired my post. Hey, I know it's his business, and I like and support non-china stuff, but things are a little over the top around here, sometimes. It's becoming annoying.

Bravo, Rednecktek! While the victron products I own are of good quality, I despise being locked into any one "ecosystem", hardware or software. Any technology. Sometime this forum seems like an endless comercial for victron. It sometimes seems a little over the top. Just my humble opinion.

Just sharing my absorption fridge experiences. I have had 2. A 3-way (12V, 120, gas), which stunk, wouldn't work hardly at all, and my current, a 120V and Propane Dometic DM2672. It's a completely different experience. It's a great fridge. Uses almost nil electric on gas. Works as good or better...

Although our taxes are ugly here in Nebraska, on my property near the platte river, 25ft with a sandpoint will get you a usable well. Heck, 10 feet would almost. In the river bottom area, every 20 years or so we get some kind of a flood, it's just part of life here. Almost zero crime, though...

    Predator or Champion?

Didn't say it was Jurassic park painted. The YJ is well known as the "Jurassic park heep". So what you are saying is that you agree with me about quality. This just proves my point.
