Funny you should ask, We in fact just got back from a 2 week stint down the Oregon coast and battery worked fantastic. I do have 800 watts of solar up top now, but we pretty much run anything we want (aside from AC of course) Microwave, coffee maker, toaster, hair drier, TV....I actually had to...

MidNite Guru Needed!, Kid Charging LifePO4 issue's

I have increased the absorption time....actually adjust it up and down daily dependent on depth of discharge. Currently 14.5 volts for 30 min or 5 amp end amps. I ran it with the float set at 13.5 for a week every 3rd day or say it would bulk on its own....but usually had to power cycled it...

MidNite Guru Needed!, Kid Charging LifePO4 issue's

This morning I woke up hearing the charge controllers relay clicking off and on. I thought maybe that meant I would start on its own.....nope. When it decided there was enough sun on the panels to stay on...it went straight to float. I don't get it, there has to be some setting that needs...

MidNite Guru Needed!, Kid Charging LifePO4 issue's

I am having an issue with a MidNite Kid controller charging a DIY 280ah LIfePO4 battery. What happens is....any time the chrage controller reaches float, the following day it will start off the day in float without ever starting a new bulk/absorb cycle. (no matter the SOC of the battery.) The...

Dialing in MidNite Kid LifePO4 settings

I have a question about voltage drop....I have calibrated my charge controller (MidNite Kid) to the same voltage that my BMS reads wile floating. But have noticed it will always read higher wile in bulk/absorb mode (sometimes a few 10ths of a volt) causeing it to jump to float prematurely...

Dialing in MidNite Kid LifePO4 settings

Oops sorry, I meant they were top ballanced and since then the cells usually sit within .002 of a volt of each other The kid has the "Whizbang Jr" added, which is connected to a shunt. Thanx

Dialing in MidNite Kid LifePO4 settings

Thank you for the info. Yes, cells were top balanced to within .002 of a volt. As for voltage drop between the kid and battery....I've never been around to observe the absorb stage. However the BMS and Kid have show the same voltage at all other times. As soon as I get a sunny day (damn...

Hey sorry, just noticed this now. Yup I got my 280 AH 12 volt battery last week. All the cells seem to be ballanced within .002 of a volt and the build quality looks excellent. I'm in the middle of a few other repairs in the motorhome so haven't had a chance to install it yet and give er a...

You are correct, he uses JBD bms's with Bluetooth. Just heard from him as well, must be working on both of ours at the same time. Told me he uses the Xiaoxiang app from overkillsolar.com. I downloaded that and the "Blue Elephant" app just to play with.....not sure which will work better but...

By chance did you ask Elias what app he uses for the BMS's? I know there are a few that will work.....but apparently some do not give you the options to change peramiters. I downloaded the little elephant app, but id does not look like the ones i've seen on U-tube. Trying really hard not to...

I've been emailing back and forth with Alberta Lithium. He says for charging voltage, anything between 14.2-14.6 is acceptable. Can anyone else confirm that they're BMS's are cutting off at 14.2? Any other reviews good or bad? Thanx

Renogy 200 ah vs SOK 206 ah lithium?

Just looking for an update on this thread. Has anyone tried the new Renogy 200AH batteries......going threw the specs I see they are rated at half the cycles of the 100AH unit. I know 2000 cycles is still a lot, but is making me hesitant to pull the trigger on them
