solar pergola on pavement, only weighted down

Where do you live because you are forgetting about snow load requirements. Likely 10-25 pounds per square foot.... 20 foot X 18 foot is 360 sqft and at 10 lbs snow load is 3,600#'s at 25 lbs snow load is 9,000 lbs. I don't think what you got will hold 9,000 lbs but it might hold 3,000...

    Pool heat pumps?

I have a Geocool water to water that I use in the summer to take heat our of our "heated floors" and put in our hot water tank....Many use mini splits....

    Inverter does not frequency shift

You can hook your panels to a Solar Charge Controller (SCC) and use it to charge the battery and see the IQ8's and keep all your other stuff.

Looking to Match SCC to Solar Panels

I think you can keep what you got....2s2p will give you 20 amps and 64 volts....I see no problems.

Heat Pump Vendor Reviews (US Edition)

I put a lg recently in a garage and if it isn't above 60 degree F in the garage it will not work......be where....not a good choice for a garage.

    CANNIBAL CME IN COMING

A-grade 304 Eve cells - fake, or real? What to expect?

Just do an output test (4 cells is easy to do). Cells degrade on a predictable curve....Does anything else really matter?

IP-65 / Salt Spray Hybrid Inverter

Salt is still in the air.....might add filters....like car air filters on the inlet and outlet.

DIY Solar RV Carport/Cover Building - configuration Bifacial?

All still the same...working fine...just adding more solar elsewhere on the property. I pick up a pallet of 27 panels from the Pink Energy auction and going to install a solar fence soon.

AC Coupling Questions Solark and IQ8s

Enphase micros self shutdown when voltage gets to high....not sure this is 100% correct...Micro shuts down at 264vac at the inverter....My power company supplies 255vac all day long now a days....so 127 on one side. 132 isn't that far off.

Does connecting micro inverters as AC coupled input to the GEN port of a Solark 15k violate any national or New Hampshire code?

Put the Micros on the house side/Load side output. Solark can "AC couple" and control the micros. Not sure is there are settings in the Solark to AC couple though.....Just search "AC couple Solark" I highly doubt it will work in the generator input.

    Parallel circuit breakers...

Doesn't appear to be UL listed or CE listed so can't be used in Residential/Commercial in the US anyway..... Looks like if one trips they all trip much like a 240VAC breakers so it might be functionally ok.

    Posts for near vertical array

I plan on trying a small solar fence for winter solar help and using fencing T-post's I did the calculation for both strength, snow/wind load, and angle. I think 60 degrees is what's optimal. Used PVwatts.nrel.gov for solar angle then calculated loads. I am targeting for lower Michigan.

    Enphase three phase Q-cable

The cable has like 2 feet of cable then a connector and then another 4 feet of cable to another connector and then cable, then connector and on and on depending on how you order it. The ends are just cable, one end can be capped off and the other terminated in your J-box. It is a continues...

Using solar micro inverters with batteries instead of panels

I had bought 120 cylindrical cells 55ah and I load tested them with a IQ7x and did it successfully like 7 times. Once I connected the IQ7x to the batteries connected to my hybrid inverter I got the grounding faults. I will try again and see if I can change the profiles in the IQ7x now that I...

Can a microinverter be for too many watts

Not sure that is a good idea. The MPPT and/or PWM function likely won't work and panel output won't be maximized...likely reducing total output by at least 50%

Can a microinverter be for too many watts

If the panel isn't big enough it may not trigger the micro inverter start converting to AC. Much like when there isn't enough sun on a panel. Need to size the micro inverter to the panel size per the specs, but yes you can add more micro inverter/ panel sets later.

Has anyone used gravity to compress the cells?

Funny, I did the exact same....my leaky cell is still fine but is now vertical....My 2 expanded ones are fine also.

Has anyone used gravity to compress the cells?

It all depends on how hard you are going to run them and if you have a safe plan to never over charge them....IMHO

Has anyone used gravity to compress the cells?

And then you got atmospheric pressure...that seems like the most even force of them all.... Put them in a hyperbaric chamber...

Has anyone used gravity to compress the cells?

Equal is a relative term.....may the force be with you...
  27. N

Has anyone used gravity to compress the cells?

You could also stack them vertical...the lowest one would get most force but I bet the first one in your setup gets the most force anyway.

Has anyone used gravity to compress the cells?

They do make reverse ones... https://www.mcmaster.com/gas-struts/pulling-gas-springs-4/

    Mini split direct off solar

Even if there were such a product it would likely have low quality, hard to warrantee, expensive, and not have all the bells and whistles of a normal one.. It is best to feed your house with solar and just use a standard mini split that is mass produced for the reasons above.

    Micro Inverters ???

I have used the QS1's and they don't require anything....I know things have been upgraded and maybe changed.... Thanks for the info I am guessing you are talking about the new stuff.

    Micro Inverters ???

I have done multiple enphase models without a problem... I currently have 24 IQ7PLUS-72-2-US for the last 4 years without bridge. I think the others I have tried are the IQ7X and IQ7Plus I looked up blinking red light and it says the inverter doesn't like the grid...where are you located, I am...

    Micro Inverters ???

Enphase and APsystems I have used without monitoring.... Just hook 240 AC up to them....I have even a time or two put a cord end on them and just pluged them into a wall outlet for temp trials.

    On-Grid Inverter wiring

Grid tie inverters get connected as you stated to a circuit breaker and they push the power backward into the grid by increasing the voltage causing the current to flow into the grid. Most people now have a smart meter and your power company will likely know the minute you start back feeding...
