Which BMS? Did it have a temp sensor, and did you actually test (by throwing it in a glass of ice water or something)? Did you ever discharge enough to test low voltage cutoff? Both of those would be prudent when putting a lifepo4 into service in below freezing temperatures.

Crimper are like wire strippers... yeah, you can DIY, but the tools that are designed for the job are, in fact, better/cleaner/time saving. In a pinch, I'd use your method to crimp a wire ( or a razor blade to strip it). Long term, though, a hammer or hex crimper is relatively cheap compared...

I'm simply stating why people are wondering. Stating that someone put a "cardboard box " on this rather than "a heavy box full of sh..." is misleading and confusing.

I think what people are saying is that an empty "cardboard box" did not do that. I'm pretty sure I could put a refrigerator box on that and it wouldn't bend or bow at all. Now, screwing too long a bolt on that such that it pierces a cell is completely possible. But a cardboard box?
