Solark 15k... going crazy with trying to understand Time Of Use...

This depends on how your inverter is hooked up. If it's between meter and your main panel, then they're the same. Otherwise, Load would mean anything connected downstream to LOAD terminals of your Sol-Ark and Home would mean anything reported by the current sensors (CT) installed (presumably at...

SEPLOS MASON 3.0 BMS (2A) VS JK INV BMS 200A WITH 2A

I meant this in context of closed loop communication, meaning the SOC is being reported by the Seplos BMS. The drift happens at the BMS level as well because of how they stop counting below 6%. This is independent of Sol-Ark calculations, which are only relevant in open loop mode.

Solark 15k... going crazy with trying to understand Time Of Use...

Make sure your "Limit Power to Home" and "Time of Use" is checked. You might also want to check "Grid Sell", depending upon your utility contract in Time of Use settings, set your time brackets, something like 00:00 (SoC 100%) 05:00 (SoC 100%) 09:00 (SoC 100%) 15:00 (Power 10kw, SoC 50%) 19:00...

SEPLOS MASON 3.0 BMS (2A) VS JK INV BMS 200A WITH 2A

No major issues with closed loop comms with Sol-Ark, worked out of box with regular ethernet cable. One downside is, the soc% on these BMS tend to drift from reality if you don't regularly charge your batteries to full. I have found that as long as you charge these all the way once a week or...

JuncTek Battery Monitor vs Victron SmartShunt

Anyone buying these 305ah envision cells?

I have put in around 100 cycles on my 2 packs and they have been very reliable. All cells are still well balanced using just the Seplos passive balancer. It’s summertime here, so I fully charge and discharge all my packs almost daily these days. Good bargain.

Seplos v3 comms with solar Assistant and EG4 3000EHV-48 (solved)

SA is working on an update to display all individual cell voltages. I believe that’s supposed to come out in September timeframe if I recall correctly. As for the cell voltages, they match what I see on PC software perfectly for my 3 packs. I hope your numbers are incorrect, otherwise your...

Seplos v3 comms with solar Assistant and EG4 3000EHV-48 (solved)

You'll need to update SA software to latest version (05/23) to support V3 BMS. https://solar-assistant.io/help/updates/changelog

    Cell price drop

Requirement from my wife was that my DIY battery shouldn't look 'ghetto' and she shot down my plywood box idea... so I guess I'm the target customer for these sheet metal boxes.

    Hail damage to roof

We had a bad hail storm recently with 1.5" hails dropping for almost 10 minutes. Somehow, all of my ~50 panels survived the hail barrage, but unfortunately a lof of shingles didn't. Now I need to replace my 4 years old roof and need to pay someone to remove and reinstall panels. I'm taking this...

Solar Assistant Wish list, Bugs and Issues.

Yes, BMS reports correct data and I can see that if I connect same same RS485 cable to a laptop and use seplos software. I think this might be a bug. Support for V3 BMS was just recently added to the SA beta, so that's very likely

What’s the advantage of SA on RS232? Seems like we could access and modify all settings through RS485 now.

What are good connection point techniques for solid connections

If only some sections of wires are getting significantly hotter than others carrying the same current, it's likely due to bad connection/ crimp.

Solar Assistant Wish list, Bugs and Issues.

I noticed that my battery packs always report highest or lowest cell voltage as 3.3. If the average is below 3.3V, then highest cell voltage is being reported as 3.3V and if the average is higher than 3.3V, then lowest cell voltage is reported as 3.3.

The new "My Sol-Ark" App and Migration to AWS is happening very soon.

I think solar-assistant website says that RS485 through CAN/ BMS port is read only and you need to hook up to RS232(?) port where WiFi dongle is connected to be able to modify settings on 15k. For 8k/ 12k, you can modify settings through any port.

Battery configuration for a 16 bank EVE 304

    1. Battery settings ONE Capacity= 304ah x 16 =4864ah (First image is wrong) --> This should be 304Ah, as the commenter above stated. Batt Mode = Use Batt % (First image is wrong) --> if your BMS can communicate with inverter, use Lithium, else use voltage. SOC percentage calculations are often...

SEPLOS MASON 3.0 BMS (2A) VS JK INV BMS 200A WITH 2A

I have 3 Seplos mason kits running V3, 200A bms WITHOUT an active balancer. I have around 60 cycles on my batteries and all of them have cells still within 10mV deviation at full charge. The passive balancer does a great job. I don’t see any reason why additional active balancer wouldn’t do even...

1/0 gauge 300 amp rating or not?

I use double 1/0 cables with my Sol-Ark15k and at 250A+ continuous for an hour or so they only get mildly warm. I was using a single 1/0 with my 12k and that was limited to ~175A and I didn't see any major heat issue either. My run from inverter to busbar is very short though, ~2.5ft

1/0 gauge 300 amp rating or not?

Class M should be higher rated. Somewhere around 250 if I recall.
