24v vs 48v

Hi,

I am planning to buy 16 cells lifepo4 , I already have 24v inverter. My question is it ok to build 2 x 8s for 24v system with 2 bms on each pack, or is it better to build one 48v 16s battery bank with one bms, and buy a new 48v inverter?

If you already have the 24v inverter, it is fine to use 24v 8S bms on them.
What are your loads? Would a 48v inverter be a benefit?

Hi thanks for your reply, my loads would be like 6 amps.

Build the 2-24vDC now (run in parallel) and rebuild it into a 48v one if needed in the future. You will have access to the cells easier if you allow for it during build.

Make sure you buy a BMS that is 8-16(some up to 24) capable so you can reuse the BMS.
