336V cable sizing for solar panels.

I have 8 solar panels in series,

8S = 336V/10A

My panels are about 50m away from the charge controller.

What size cable should I use and what voltage drop is acceptable?

According to this cable size calculator https://photovoltaic-software.com/solar-tools/voltage-drop-calculator-dc-ac it saying that 2.5 mm² is fine...

Is a DC voltage drop of 2.67% okay?

For 10a, I’d run 10awg and live with some losses.

That wire, equivalent to 14 AWG, is fine for the voltage drop but doesn’t have much ampacity to spare if you have to de-rate it for bundling conductors, ambient temp., etc.

AWG 10 would be my choice.

I paid the extra $40 and went with 8awg wire. I can add more panels if I want at any time. Depends on the cost difference

12awg or whatever your mm equivalent is will be perfectly fine.
Just make sure it is rated to 600v.... standard value for most cabling around the world.

Good idea but remember adding in series would not require larger wire just pay attention not t exceed voltage rating!
