Hi All,

  • 2 years ago I converted my 40' sloop to all electric...
  • Overall I have been very happy with the install collecting and storing close to 2.5mWh since the last upgrade...
  • Notwithstanding I have 2 VE Smartshunts that won't go much below 80% SoC for the 48v and the 12v house stays at 100% all the time despite the EG4 BMS app showing one 12v battery at 93%+ SoC and the second battery between 0 and 33%...
  • I can configure my VE install to allow a VE certified tech to remote into the system for an assessment as to what I can do to improve the monitoring of my system...
  • I can't find a reliable source or contact for VE certified techs that are available to take a look...

Might be worth updating the firmware on the batteries, I think they tweaked some things regarding voltage at which they start internal balancing etc. Sig solar has an update dongle they can send you for free with coupon code I believe.
