I can confirm two 3000VA multiplus running in split phase can start and run a 3.5 ton Trane 18 seer dual stage heat pump with a MicroAir easy start installed.
I searched far and wide for confirmation this could be done before purchasing the 2nd multi. Which is what originally brought me to this thread. So maybe this can help others.
Without the easy start the starting amps were ~50A @240v. Best I can tell with amp meter I have.
With the easy start, it is reporting starting amps are 24.8A @240v. That is well within the capacity of the 3000VA Multi, which should be able to push ~45A for a few cycles so long as the voltage doesn’t drop too much.
I will add that I am using 4/0 cable to connect a 400Ah 52V stack of parallel batteries. Which may help to prevent voltage drop on the DC side.
