Oz, the Trace inverters were and still are pretty good inverters, they do not use high frequency pwm, but a stepped waveform.
My own Warpverter design uses a similar system with all of the same advantages.
You cannot buy a Warpverter, you have to build it yourself, so I am definitely not trying to sell you anything.
Its a free open source design for anyone that is interested in making one.
Shimmy, potting compounds have a few problems of their own.
The biggest one being unrepairability.
