16 EVE 3.2v 105ah cells that come with screws and busbars
JK 150A BMS with bluetooth supports 8-24 series balancing
already have inverter, smartshunt, 4/0 battery wires

Anything else recommended for this 48v build ?

The price is way better than any 48v batteries that I can find like eg4, litime, etc. but maybe I missed something ?

To compress them ? I hadn't decided. Is a compression strap or 2 sufficient ?

Would 1mm thick pieces of plastic work in between ?

Yes, 1mm thick plastic would work.

To compress or not to compress, that is the question. There are long discussions on the subject. I am not sure it is worth the effort to compress properly. Some sort of fixture, to hold your battery might be beneficial depending on your use and setup.

I think I'm going to use some sawed down cheap hdpe cutting boards on each side and compression straps then put everything into a box with casters. I'm not planning on compressing too much, just snug to keep everything solidly together.
