BLE-01 will not connect

G’day all,

My phone is a Samsung S9+

My BLE-01 will not connect via bluetooth.

My location services on the phone is turned on but I dont get any request via the app.

The phone sees the BLE but requests a password.

Any ideas?

Sorted.

The app didnt request ‘location services’ as mentioned elsewhere. I had to search for it under LC in the phone which I found and give it permission.

Ive got the new BLE-01 in black box which is replacing the one in blue box. The problem is that I cant see the signal from it on any of my Samsung Galaxy S5 and S7. So it is not epever software issue but rather phisical connection problem.
After communication with epever support Ive got a replacement, but it has the same problem.
I assume since the previous blue boxes used Bluetooth ble 4.0 and the new black box is using BLE 5.0 standard I have incompatibility with my Galaxy Phones Bluetooth 4.0 and 4.2 versions, even though it is widely mentioned that Bluetooth 5.0 has backwards compatibility with older ones which I still clearly dont understand (is it like this: smartphone with BLE 5.0 is compatible with older device, or vice versa?).

The new Ebox has Ai-Thinker PB-02 Bluetooth 5.0 module.

Unfortunately I dont have any Bluetooth 5 or higher smartphones around.

Has anybody experienced similar issues so far with those bew black boxes?
