If I go the route of getting an incentive from my utility for batteries, I'll need to pick a CEC approved battery. The list is quite long, so to help narrow it down would anybody have recommendations? I know EG4 as well as some other popular ones are on there. Anybody have any thoughts on some other brands/models that you would recommend or consider for yourself?

Bonus points if it's cheaper than the $1200 for the EG4 100Ah.

For context, I'm looking for about 400Ah/20kWh, but open to a larger system if the financials make sense.

The PowerPro is an attractive package, and some people report it working with Sunny Island (which I have, but won't be an approved ESS.)

I was considering BYD at twice the price for a family member.

Midnight has introduced The One, and they are teasing that the battery they're about to introduce will be significantly cheaper than any reputable brand out there. Expect this to be a listed ESS, on the CEC list at some point. Worth watching and waiting for.
